When Boeung Kak lake was still there & the area was a thriving backpacker area this wasn't a bad little place. Was heaps of bars, restaurants & shops all around and the area, although out of the way, it had a real buzz. The bar & restaurant here were good & still OK. The rooms are very tiny, & toilet/shower... More

Since the lake is nearly filled up, there is not much more going on in the area. I would stay at the riverfront next time. The staff is kind of annoying and got unfriendly as soon as they realized that we wouldn't be spending a fortune there. Rooms are good and cheap. The restaurant is good as well. Still wouldn't... Everything is pretty good as long as you can understand and tell what you want to the staffs. Recently, the big lake has gone. However, you still can see the nice view of sunset from the top of the Guest House. There are many available services such as bus ticket, fly ticket, visa service, restaurant, internet access, free high speed... More

i dont understand the reason why so many people on tripadvisor wrote such bad things over this hotel. i read that one has been robbed and i'm very sorry for that but i wanna talk about my experience here. we spent 3 nights. the room was very small and a bit claustrophobic above all cos it had no window but... It has been two years since I stayed here, so things may have changed...but unless they have (and recent reviews suggest they have not) then this place is run by psychopaths. I was physically threatened when i declined to take their tuk-tuk, and the feeling of vengance lasted for my stay with back chat and death stares at every oppo.... More

... unless you are really hard up for a $5 a night room. Why? 1. The rooms are tiny. 2. The bathroom is tiny. 3. The lake is history (what view?!) 4. The security is lax (I always lock my backpack's zippers together so thank God nothing got stolen.) 5. It's out of the way from the bars and nightlife... More

1. Got 'kidnapped' by tuktuk the moment we got down from bus in Phnom Penh. We wanted to go to Narin but he said that it's closed for renovation (we suspected he lied). 2. For a price of USD5 per room for two, you get shabby room with no walking space between the beds and the wall. I wonder how... More

Stayed in a twin room. Barely enough room to walk between the beds, and there was no storage or surfaces so our bags had to take up what little floor space we had. First room we saw was covered in ants so they moved us to a 'clean' one, but sadly the fan didn't work properly... Bathrooms were a little... More

I ended up staying here after the usual affair of arriving on a bus from Vietnam at a tour office you are picked up by people promoting their hotel. Yes the Boeung Kak area is listed in Lonely Planet etc as the budget place to go, and you can get a room for $4, but at this place the rooms... More
