I am a regular guest in Tashkent. This time I was froced to change hotel; usualy I stay in Tashkent Palace (best value hotel in Tashkent, or in Radisson). Due to a some fair in Tashkent this week my office reserved me this one. It was closed for few months, because of bancrupcy of former owner. That is the reason... More

I'm sure there are a few travel agents in Uzbekistan who are getting nice cuts from recommending this place- with or without discount. The prices charged are certainly a bit over the top. Breakfast is nothing special but you can eat as much fuel as you want. Its a shame they don't concentrate on cleaning the table cloths rather than... More

I staid for 2 nights, past october, at this hotel, and it was an absolute decadent place. It started with the reception, were noone spoke english, and had did'nt care about the guests. At the entry hall , there was at a corner , some chairs , and a table, and this was supposed to be 'the bar'. The restaurant... More

This used to be a Sheraton, and the rooms are evidently Sheraton house style. So, the rooms are comfortable, but that's where the similarity ends. I stayed in this hotel at the beginning and end of a trip that took me to other cities in Uzbekistan, so I noticed differences between rooms that revealed signs of minor faults that are... More

The room was ok as it was designed and furnished by Sheraton. Window was not cleaned from outside probably since last summer. Bathroom accessories average, breakfast was versatile, a lot of fresh fruit, vegetables, different pastries and salads, all prepared with Uzbek flavour so don't expect German-style pastry, but overall we enjoyed it. The receptionist welcomed me with asking whether... More

Known as the 'ex-Sheraton'. Was booked by Uzbeki friend at excellent corporate rate. Arrived at three in the morning and was not charged for the night (free early check-in, in other words). During the day, the staff was attentive, engaging, helpful and friendly. Location was at a central crossroads -- near restaurants, shops, and the blackmarket moneychangers. Biggest problem with... First comes Western investment. A good Sheraton hotel with a good management . Then something (politically?) goes wrong, and Sheraton decides to leave. In comes the Uzbek new-rich management. Attractive but unfriendly Russian girls at the reception. Services never matching international standards. High prices remain. English speaking no more. A guy comes up, whispers and suggests massage to single male... More

The Markaziy is a well located hotel, formerly a Sheraton, it feels very much a former property though with the service levels on a much lower level, nevertheless, it is still one of the best in town, after the Intercontinental and the Dedaman. However, I had a really bad experience with an extremly rude and unprofessional front office manager, a... More

Advantages: the arrangement, respectability of numbers (though furniture quality is so-so), service corresponds 3,5 stars (though on the hotel there are already 5 stars, probably, on the sixth paints has not sufficed). Lacks: a poor bathroom (the upholstered ceramic glasses, there is no a hat, the shower is fixed only in one position, thus half of water appears on a... More
