Hotel Uzbekistan is an hotel with spacious rooms, clean and ensuite toilet and shower of perfect quality. The food in the hotel is ok and there are several bars/restaurants. Internet is possible and you can use internetcomputers in the business centre of the hotel on the third floor. Almost every night of the four I stayed in hotel Uzbekistan, a... More

This monstrous Soviet monolith gets a pretty bad press from some reviewers, but we stayed there a week ago and found it perfectly acceptable. It is true that some rooms smell a bit strange (smoking is permitted) and that some of the carpets and furniture have seen better days. It is also true that the staff initially seem slightly offhand.... More

I have nothing against reasonably priced Soviet style monster hotels, but this one was worse than I could imagine. Starting from the unfriendly staff (with the exception of one girl out of 10 I met), old hardly functional furniture in the rooms, constant problems with shower and sink (clogging) hence unpleasant smell, dirty carpets, too much noise from the weddings... Huge structure,Good location for tourists ,but in the whole hotel the central Air conditioning was very poor & the Television doesn't work in many rooms, so thorough renovation is required. It should be one's last choice at Tashkent. More

We stayed a night here at the start of our visit to Uzbekistan and another night at the end of our trip, both times in superior rooms. The hotel is well-located. The rooms are large and fairly clean but tired. There didn't seem to be air conditioning but we were able to open our balcony door. The downside with this... More

Stayed here for two nights before and after a tour of the Silk Road cities of Uzbekistan. Fairly old Soviet era hotel. Bit of an eyesore from the outside as it sits overlooking the beautiful Amir Temur Square which has many nice buildings around it. Rooms were generally ok though note they promise air conditioning in every room but it... More

I stayed in Hotel Uzbekistan twice. First time in a superior room and 2nd time in standard. Very good heating system and few clean rooms. I would suggest you leave 3000-4000 cyms when you leave your room and they room service become excellent. if there are Indian tourist staying in the hotel try to go for breakfast early as they... The hotel is not recommended for woman/women traveling alone (if they do not want troubles). The majority of guests in the hotel are indian men looking for "entertainment". It appeared, the hotel has this special reputation... They behave actively and it is unpleasant. Anyways, it's hard to avoid communication, because they will annoy you in a lift, dining hall and...
