Spring time in the bloomy garden of Ayasofya Konaklari, reading a novel, writing postcards for friends, drinking tsai, enjoying the last rays of sun. This is an ideal evening for me in the old city of Sultanahmet in Istanbul and Ayasofya Konaklari, is the ideal place for living it. This is a historical hotel, in one of the oldest streets... More

The Hotel was a great location, the rooms were on the small side, as was the bathroom. There was very little in regards to amenities in the room, no coffee or tea or plug in kettle. However, the room was clean, the service was good and the breakfast was lovely. The location can not be beat, it was a friendly... More

The hotel is situated nicely in the middle of all the touristy sites. But for the price that you pay you get very little. The Wi-fi is limited to the cafe and reception areas, sometimes seemingly at the wind's whim you might have reception in your room. The mini-bar has more than a 100% mark-up on food stuff and there... More

An excellent place to stay in Istanbul, snuggled right in between the Hagia Sofia and the walls around Topkapi Palace. The location couldn't be better - we loved swinging by our room to grab jackets or take a break during a busy day of sight seeing. The staff are most helpful, the breakfast is in a lovely conservatory, and the... More

This is an unusual hotel, a conservation project. There is a row of old wooden cottages built against the palace walls and looking across a traffic-free cobbled street at Aya Sofiya. Our room on the second floor was almost cramped – there was a small double bed and no room for a television. Breakfast was served down the street in... More

The location is good, if you are touring the basic highlights of Istanbul, but I bet there are some that may be better. The service was fine, as was breakfast, but the room we had for 2 nights was so teeny our luggage barely fit in the room with us, and we travel light. AC was on the blink and... More

I loved the Ayasofya Konaklari from the moment I arrived in Istanbul in May of 2011. I was booked in for three days, and then I was going to move to another hotel in the Sultanahmet for the remainder of the week, before moving over to the Bosphorus side of Istanbul. I enjoyed the Ayasofya Konaklari so much, I cancelled... More

Through over booking we were switched here not knowing what to expect. That said we were extremely happy here in this marvellous Ottoman city setting, over looking the Ayasofia. The hotel appeared to comprise about 12 Ottoman style town houses in a street, with a marvellous garden breakfast cafe and the related Sarnic restaurant. Our house had just three rooms... More

We arrived late one evening from the airport, were greeted in a friendly but business-like manner by the reception, and taken to our room by the bellman. in the morning, exploring our location, we discovered to our delight that we were walking distance to many of the best attractions in Istanbul that the first-time tourist hopes to see: Blue Mosque,...
