The location of this hotel is walking distance to the old city and the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are pretty abysmal. They sheets and towels were clean but the entire hotel seemed dingy and threadbare. The hotel lost power one night and morning while there, which is understandable in a country like Israel, however no... More

Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, breakfast was OK. It is not easy to find the hotel though and the neighborhood was not pleasant (but I do not think it is dangerous as some people say). What is important - the hotel is quite close to the Old City.

I stayed at Alcazar twice while I was in Israel/Palestine. Yes the place is a bit old and tired, but the people there are so kind, warm, helpful and friendly! My first night there I was a bit shaken (after leaving a scary situation in Eilat, I don't advise solo women to travel there!) the comfort I received upon arrival... More

We stayed for two nights, only because we did'nt have the time to change hotel. The only good thing was the view from our room! And the free wifi. Sometimes there was a man in reception who couldn't speek a word of English! Everything was dirty and very worn! Don't stay here!

Alcazar Hotel is housed in an unfriendly place. Rather, we fear to leave it in the evening. We were given room 307 - requires much refreshed. Bathroom clean but supposedly destroyed. No hot water. Bedding clean, the beds comfortable, but worn. Service friendly and helpful. No parking at the hotel - you can park on the narrow road. Around the... More

You get what you pay for at Al-Cazar. It's basic and dated, but my room was clean (old does not always equal dirty, it was a little tired but the cleaners did a good job). I was a little concerned that some reviews mention the area is not safe - that is COMPLETELY FALSE. As a lone female traveller I... More

I've stayed in a variety of places in Jerusalem, from a boutique hotel to a Christian-run B&B. Alcazar is - in my opinion - a very good budget option. Jerusalem accommodation is not cheap. This place is very reasonably priced, the rooms are clean & the service fantastic. Notes: * It's about a 15-minute walk from the Old City. If... More

This is my third visit to Jerusalem and the third visit to Alcazar Hotel. It keeps getting better. Nader Yunes and his team are efficient, very friendly and most helpful with all your needs, be it tours, general information or ideas for your travels. Reception is open day and night and no query is too difficult for the person attending... More

The staff were all very helpful and friendly- which really made our trip. We were only on a B&B package but as it was very hot, several evenings when we got in, they brought out some refreshments such as ice cream, melon and satsumas- which was a very welcome surprise. We particularly enjoyed the time our host spent with us... More

I booked this hotel in a hurry just as I was about to leave Tel Aviv and, contrary to my usual custom, chose it because it was the cheapest on offer! Without GPS in the car it would have been just about impossible to find! However, find it we did, and we were all glad to have done so because... More
