Comfy bed, Clean room?, Shaving Kit? I have recently joined a new company based in Dubai and I was booked a few nights stay at this hotel for a conference. After a long day in the office then came the fight, all I wanted was my bed at the other end and not to enter into conversation or small talk.... More

Staff is always nice. They try hard to please but this is not enough. Its like you have good software but poor hardware. Main pro: good location for business and always smiley staff (although most dont speak good english) Two main Cons: --Rooms have near zero noise insulation. Walls and connecting doors are wafer thin for sound --Restaurant food is... More

This hotel aspires to be among the other top hotels in Doha (I visited a couple of others), but it falls short. I stayed for two nights, put up by my hosts in Doha. The interior is poorly lit all around and a little shabby. Hotel staff offer greetings in abundance but aren't really that helpful. My room was very... More

Stayed recently unexpectedly after missing our flight connection in Doha. This the the hotel used by Qatar Airways for delayed passengers. We were given a suite which was clean and well appointed and an extra bed arrived on request for our young daughter. Linens were clean and fresh, tea/coffee facilities provided. We ate three meals in the open buffet restaurant... More

Friendly staff but Finishings and amenities are old fashion and its clear the original workmanship was not of good quality. Maintenance could be better but some may like this and say it adds character. It all depends on what your looking for. One thing I must criticise is that Internet access is only provided at an extra charge. In today's... More

If you are on a business trip don't choose this hotel. I arrived mid-morning after an overnight flight from the UK and wanted a hot bath, only to find there was no plug in the bathtub. I telephoned Housekeeping and Reception several times before someone arrived with an electrical adaptor plug. It was funny the first time but three more... More

We had a 12 hour layover in Doha due to Qatar Air’s crazy flight scheduling, causing us to look for a place to lay our heads for a few hours and hopefully see something of Qatar in our limited time. We decided to spend US$200 on a room, so that we would not end up in some run-down hotel in... More

The Retaj Al Rayan is past its best. The rooms are a good size and comfortable but just a little dated. There is only one restaurant, a buffet, which I didn’t think looked particularly appetising. Breakfast also looked a little tiered and luke warm. The swimming pool is fully covered which makes sense for this part of the world but... More

The Retaj is an Islamic hotel, not part of an international chain, so is dry. It is a great place though with friendly, helpful staff (although you shouldn't expect their urgency time frames to match yours!!). Rooms are spacious and comfortable with cable TV with a good range of international channels including Sky News which makes a change from Al-Jazeera.... More
