Myanmar hotels are generally not great value for money, but this was more than true at the savoy. The staff queried our agoda voucher and tried to charge for an extra guest (even though no change to the room, just an extra breakfast), they said it would be $80! The good folks of agoda fixed it and reissued the voucher,... More

We spent only one night at the end of our Burma tour, but this is a place we want to come back. It is small, so NO package tourist! very elegant in all details, furniture objects, everything. Super service, very nice pool, very small beauty farm with professional massage. The room was big, very well equipped. Breakfast very good. We... More

We booked a deluxe room at the Savoy Hotel for a 2-night stay at start of our trip around Burma in February. As we were unsure about transfers from Yangon airport we booked the hotel pick up at $25, and were promised car with a/c but we actually got a very old Volvo estate with a fan! Airport taxis would... We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our trip to Myanmar. Everything about this hotel is done right, from the decor to the helpful staff. The hotel is nicely decorated in colonial style and offers great amenities such as the pool, excellent breakfast and most of all the tremendously helpful staff. The Pagoda is a short walk... More

We stayed at The Savoy for three nights on arrival and one night before leaving Myanmar before going on to India, where we stayed at some five-star hotels. We can honestly say that The Savoy total experience was by far and away the best of all the hotels we used. From the moment of arrival we felt we were in... More

A stylish, charming hotel from an era long gone. Simplely decorated rooms with teak flooring and large enough to have 2 x suite case 'stands'. Rooms over looking the pool seem quieter and lighter. Service was good and prompt, breakfast more than adequate, and the pool a offered an escape from the afternoon heat. We didn't eat dinner in the... More

My husband and I started and ended our trip to Myanmar at the Savoy. As others have reported, it is a beautiful colonial hotel that provides excellent service. The entire hotel, including all of the rooms, are richly, yet minimally, decorated in teak wood. The breakfast is good, the dinner upstairs slow and ok, and a lively bar is a... More

Many tourists, like us, arrive in Yangon on a flight from Bangkok. Generally, hotel prices are much higher in Myanmar than in Thailand and other countries in South East Asia. It is now easy for tourists to visit and the numbers far exceeds the available beds in hotels of an acceptable standard. The hotels are taking advantage of this and... More

We started our tour of the country by staying first at Savoy. This was a good choise. The hotel is located within walking distance of Shwedagon (a wonderful experience but not so good for the hottest time of the day because the tiles are extremely hot for the mandatory bare feet). The building is colonial style with some nice local... More

I was here on business for about three nights and highly recommend the Savoy. The rooms are quiet and tastefully decorated, while the hotel exudes colonial charm.
