No high-rise building or flashy outlook, just professional and oriental outlook + great service. After a round of chaos at the Beijing South Railway Station, I felt so relieved when we were driven to our hotel, safely. Warm greetings, clean lobby and upmarket boutiques were very welcomed. The rooms were of good size and so were the bathrooms. A telephone... More

It's been like three years ago that we stayed at the Peninsula Beijing. Traveled there with General Motors with my wife. Looking back at photos I thought was a very nice hotel, though didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel. Location is perfect, we arrived at about 3 am local time from long flight from US. I knew... The hotel staffs were friendly enough and room was very clean. One thing bothered me a little was some hotel staffs (like room service) showed their feelings too much depending on how much we tip them. They showed how they are so unhappy if we gave them about $2 tip. Like they were hesitant to leave as if they were... More

Living in Korea through a corporate expat assignment, my husband and I have traveled extensively throughout Asia and have recently fallen in love with the Peninsula Hotels (in Shanghai and Hong Kong). Naturally, I booked the Peninsula for a trip to Beijing with my sister in law who was visiting from the US. I booked through the Amex Fine Resorts... More

What I meant by the title is if this hotel is a chain hotel, even at this prince range, it could be a 4 star rating. But this is a Peninsula! So I made my first trip to Beijing, decided to make it more memorable by staying at this renowned hotel. After all, I loved both the Peninsula Hong Kong... More

Have to Agree with other reviews...Hotel is tired, nothing like Peninsula Shanghai but the location is good. We stayed here for 4 nights on the Club level and the Concierges were more helpful than the main lobby. We did get a great rate so that's why I picked it but there is no Wow in this Hotel. More

I beleive what makes a great 5 star hotel is a combination of service and like minded guests. So, if you are a businessman that is looking to stay at a hotel with some gravitas or a retiree on holiday, the Penninsula is for you. If you are a younger traveller looking for like minded people or even just a... More

After staying in the Peninsula in Bangkok, I was surprised to see how affordable the Peninsula Beijing was. As it turns out, the hotel is not of the same calibre. It's perfectly fine, there are no glaring problems with the rooms or the staff, but it's just an older hotel. The location is fairly central, and it's surrounded by shopping... More

This is NOT the sister hotel of the famous Peninsula in Hong Kong. This hotel is a refurbished local hotel with a Peninsula veneer. I would NOT recommend it for private travel : This is a conference hotel. Some details : 1.) The lobby is quite tacky, replete with every Western luxury boutique in one place. Even if you wanted... We stayed at the Peninsula Beijing during Easter break (early April) and stayed for 3 nights. The location of the hotel is hard to beat, next to the Beijing Pedestrian Shopping and the street food row. The rooms are beginning to look a little tired, but the good house keeping service makes up for it! Overall the service in the... More
