Stayed here one night and really liked it. The hostel has a nice and friendly atmosphere and staff helpful. The rooms were like the Hutong style, round the courtyard which made it a bit cold when first arrived in the room, but was fine once we were under the covers. Towels and sheets a little worn so bring your own,... More

The website is misleading, the text and the pictures are not how we experienced it at all. Watching a movie was a problem because the movieroom is also the restaurant. Bathroom was poor and the mattresses are really thin, we checked out before we even slept one night here. There are better places which do have a backpackers vibe. More

Nice hostel, especially for the price. The beds are fine and the rooms all have heating in them. There's a great tv in the lounge area with chairs and you can order food while you watch a movie with your friends or other travelers (who are typically very friendly). There's an internet lounge and they have the ways of getting... More

By no means fancy, but gets the job done. The service was very friendly, cozy bar upstairs and nice living room area. The highlight was the tour they organized of the great wall, ahead of the tourist spots. It was quiet and super. There's free internet on a terminal and some DVD's to choose from More

We loved Leo Hostel. Sure, the rooms smell a bit musty and the shower floods. What do you expect... it's China. It's certainly nothing unusual. So few hutongs are left that it's nice to be on a traditional street. The staff is quite good. Their tours are excellent, and restaurant is reasonable. Although the street vendor, who sells what called... More

We stayed here with friends for a few days. When we first arrived we were put in a 4 person dorm with bathroom, which was damp, smelt mouldy, had dirty tissues and piles of dust and dirt behind the beds, and the wrapper for a rat trap in one corner. The bathroom smelt so bad we had to move rooms.... More

I stayed here for a week at the start of my three month trip in China and really liked the place. Although not central (not sure it is possible to be central in Beijing!) it is close to the Forbidden City and Square down some 'traditional' streets. Helpful staff who can organise tours and book onward tickets. Dorms are OK... More

Start with the positives: the food's alright and the bar in the centre of the hostel is a very lively and friendly place to meet other travellers. The location is handy for T square and the Natural History Museum. Everything else is just plain wrong. Fancya bathroom where the shower cubicle is the whole room, leading to a soaking floor for... More
