Though the "ad" on here says "Hutong Inn Zaoyuanju Hotel has a restaurant on site. 24-hour room service is available." There isnt one. Breakfast is supplied but there is no room service nor evening meal facilities, A cheap and good meal can be had a few minutes walk away at the Youth Hostel. Also as is common, it is a... More

The hotel is located in a small, not very wellknown street. The staff is relatively helpful. You can arrive at any time and get your room which is great. There are different kind of rooms, for those with bathroom, there are different size so do not hesitate to check. Comfort is fine. Breakfast is very basic, so you might prefer... More

I stayed here for 5 nights in October. The hotel is a little difficult to find because it was down a small alley in the old hutong area. My boyfriend and I took the subway from the airport to the nearest station (Guloudajie on line 2) and walked the few blocks to the Hutong Inn (about 10 minutes from the... More

Be very careful if you stay in this hotel! I stayed at the Hutong Inn October 2011. When I checked in I was asked for my passport for photocopying. No problem, however, the assistant manager then said he would bring them to my room later. He came to the room but did not hand over my passport but said he... More

I stayed at the Hutong Inn this month and would strongly advise against anyone ever staying there in the future. The hotel staff asked for our passports to check in and then when we went to collect them they denied ever having them. When we advised we were getting the police involved they became very nervous and kept changing their... More

We stayed four nights( booked from NZ) There was a mixup not of the hotel's staff's making which meant we were three adults in a family room. We were somehow unable to get a double plus single room, whether this was lost in translation we don't know, or whether it was booked out? It was a smallish room, basic, but... More

The management at this hotel is petty and dishonest, which is a shame because otherwise, this hotel would be rated a solid three stars. My wife and I booked our room through a Chinese site called Wokaijia, which is a participating member of the very reputable Chinese qunar website. We booked the room for four nights at $35 Canadian (less... More

I loved the look of the place the minute we walked in, loved the local laneway we had to follow to the hotel. The reception staff were friendly but very busy and check in/out tends to be a bit of a slow process. Our room was extremely small but the room was so cute with these neatly made beds and... More

This hotel is part of a chain of "Hutong Inns", however this location is referred to as THE "Hutong Inn" even though it's official name is "Zaoyuanju" and their other location (walking distance away) USED to be referred to as "Hutong Inn" (and is labeled such on maps) and is now "Hutong Culture Inn". They are both very hard to... More
