This was our first experience of an Aman resort and it will not be our last. Superb friendly accessable service from the moment you leave the aircraft right to the very end of your stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble, everything we needed for a romantic, peaceful and active weekend away was catered for. The Amanjiwo stands out -... More

First time in an Aman Resort and such a wonderful experience ! We travelled with our one year old baby boy and everything was perfect. You really do feel at home which is just amazing. We enjoyed so much and would like to thank you all the wonderful staff. More

Overall, the Amanjiwo building(s) and location is truly gorgeous, but at parts the service lacked for us the special Aman heart… Just two examples: First night our dinner order was simply forgotten… I called after an hour as it just seemed a bit long - just to be told they it was forgotten and that they would deliver. By then... More

My husband and I recently visited Amanjiwo for 3 days, fulfilling a long-standing desire to see the Borobodur Temples. Clearly, given the reputation and the price, we had quite high expectations -- which were exceeded on every front. While we do not normally book hotels in quite this price category, we agree that it is great value because we had... More

The architecture of Amanjiwo is majestic, meditative, and reflective of the distant Borobudur. It reminded me of an excellent Bourdoux wine, with well-balanced structure and complexity, and an enduring taste. My wife and I spent our 6 year wedding anniversary vacation in Amanjiwo, along with our 5 y/o daughter, where we were warmly greeted by the F&B manager Francisco and... More

The Amanjiwo, launched in 1997, comprises a spherical limestone monolith with a bell-shaped rotunda at the top. There are 36 guest suites. Curving in two high-walled crescents, the structure pays architectural homage to the circular terraces and central stupa of the 9th century Borobudur monument. Architect Edward Tuttle who also designed the first of the Aman resorts, the Amanpuri, in... More

A certified Aman-junkie, I have had the privilege of vacationing at a number of Aman resorts. This is my personal favorite! The architecture is stunning, very similar to Amanbagh (alas, it is the same architect). Aman properties are not opulent and fussy, rather a perfect blend with their environments. Amanjiwo is no exception. Borobudur at sunrise!!! Bicycling through the tobacco... More

Amanjiwo is a must-experience resort for those wanting to get away from it all but still wanting luxury. I only stayed one night here but well worth the hour-plus drive from Jogyakarta airport. Beautifully designed suites open to private garden(ours with a pool). We woke up early to view the sunrise at Borobudur and had breakfast at the main terrace.... More

This place is not a hotel to me, it is an experience. Amazing location with this unique combination of energy from the surroundings between hills and rivers, strength from the massive stone walls, and peace from the atmosphere. Remarkable service, a real sense of exclusivity created by the activities proposed and the service quality. We had evening conferences by a... More

Borubudur, world's largest Buddhist stupa, is off the beaten bath in western Java and well worth the effort to visit, in part to sample the spectacular Amanjiwo Hotel. Words fail to convey the superb accommodations, staff and atmosphere. On a day when you need a lift, open the Aman web site and enjoy the view! More
