Great location in the Mariscal area, Hostal El Arupo is a really nice, clean and very friendly hostal. It's basic but not wanting for anything and is great value. The staff are all very friendly and the breakfast is very good too. We had a private room with bathroom and were as happy staying here as anywhere else we've stayed,... More

If you want to stay in new town (I preferred old town), this is a good location. Very clean, quiet - especially for new town, hot water 24 hours/day, helpful staff. More

The rooms in general are small and sparsely furnished with dropped ceiling and a small tv fixed to the wall that gets local channels from the tv antenna. However, the fact that the rooms are clean goes a long way here... More

I'm writng from my sunny room in the Hostal El Arupo, a pleasant little B&B on tree-lined calle Juan Rodriguez, in Quito's Barrio La Mariscal, which is my new preferred lodge in the Ecuadorian capital. I come to Quito once or twice a year and had stayed at a place recommended by a friend the last few visits, but it... More

Staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful, they also made a great breakfast. I spent three weeks in Ecuador and I stayed at this Hostal three different times. They had their work cut out for them- there were twenty eight of us many of whom were minors. It was safe and clean, two things that are important in Quito. There... More

Since 2004 my wife and I have lived in Otavalo, Ecuador for extended periods of time. Whenever we're in Quito we stay at El Arupo. I can't imagine anyone being less than completely satisfied with everything about this place. The owners and management are delightful and helpful. The rooms are simple and clean, the water is always hot, and breakfast... More

When people always complain about this and that, they have to take into consideration that they are in Quito! I have been to various hostels in quito and Arupo was the best! When you expect european or american standards in a country that can hardly provide people with electricity, then you will, of course, have to PAY for that. Arupo... More
