Casa Gangotena is by far the most luxurious place to stay in Quito. The building is a beautifully restored mansion located in the heart of the Old Town. When we arrived, the front desk staff were very welcoming and were very helpful during our stay helping to make dinner reservations etc. Rooms were well appointed, and the bathrooms were lovely.... This is an excellent hotel and would stay there anytime you decide to go to Quito. Do not allow them to arrange for your taxi, you will be charged 3 times the going rate. The staff was very friendly and helped in any way they could. The bathroom suite we had looked directly onto the plaza. The good was the... More

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel, among the most luxurious I've ever visited. The rooms and bathrooms are very large and lovely, beds are the best, and every amenity is offered. Sandwiches, unusual fruit and sweets to welcome you on arrive late at night, unlimited bottled water, an amazing breakfast buffet and "high tea" in the afternoon included in the... More

Everything about this hotel is lovely. The view from our room was fantastic. Our room was large, well appointed, very comfortable, and the bathroom equally fantastic. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. Dinner in the hotel was phenomenal.

We stayed here for 2 nights before our week long cruise of the Galapagos Islands. It has a great location in the old colonial part of the city. The hotel is lovely - a superb staff and wonderful rooms. Our room was spacious with a very large bath that included a great walk-in shower. The bed linens were comfy and... More

We had the pleasure of staying at the CASA GANGOTENA from May 17-19, 2013. The hotel is ideally situated right on the Plaza San Francisco, easily accessible to many of the famous old churches and a great place to wander the streets. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Excellent buffet breakfast. Charming and helpful service.

We stayed at the Casa Gangotena for 3 nights as our first stop on a tour of South America. It was an enjoyable and comfortable stay which set us up physically and mentally for the rest of our holiday. The new Quito airport opened in February and, as yet and for some time ahead, the road system to enable travellers... More

We returned to this historical building three times during our trip of Ecuador. Each stay was brilliant and we can´t praise the hotel enough. The building was renovated with much attention to detail and is almost unbelievably beautiful - and from the big hall where the afternoon tea is served to the rooms tastefully decorated. The restaurant is first rate,... More

There is a reason this hotel has over 100 5-star ratings and only two 4-star ratings (and none below that). These guys should teach courses to luxury hotel chains on incredible service, because despite staying at hotels that cost several times more than our room at Casa Gangotena, we have never encountered service that paralleled this hotel. They truly blew... More
