I stayed in Quito two times. Thfirst one in February and the second one in March (bothe times I stayed there for three weeks. The hotel is Ok for me, with friendly staff. A good restaurant. The hotel is situated near all kind of small restaurants and is near the historic center (20 min walk, but you can also easily... More

We stayed 2 nights at the beginning and end of a G Adventures trip. Check in was super fast, hotel has free wifi and breakfast included which was excellent. Rooms were spacious and clean - our 1st room was newer, 2nd one a bit more tired. Was fairly quiet location (for Quito!) and was only $5 to/from airport in a... More

I stayed 4 nights in the hotel in a few different rooms. The corner rooms were very nice, but the others were quite small. Staff were friendly and spoke English but not very helpful. The we're unable to even point me to a tour company for day trips. Breakfast was good but dinner in the restaurant was a meal to... More

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel in October. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially in Reception. The buffet breakfast was served from 5am-10am so great if you were starting a tour early or fancied a lie-in! Preparation was a wee bit slow at 5am, but who can blame them?!! The restaurant food was tasty in the evenings with... More

Stayed here in the beginning of November for one night prior to a trip with Gap Adventures. The hotel is located on a street with a lot of restaurants and bars. I was a little concerned about being able to hear the noise, but I was given a room in the front of the hotel on the second floor and... More

Pros: generally helpful staff, nice breakfast in morning, free internet, $4 cab ride to old town or airport ... except in rush hour when it take 2-3x as long to get to either, clean no-frills room. Close to lots of night life and shopping Cons: very noisy outside on weekend nights - traffic, shouting, police, sirens until well after midnight.... More

The hotel scores on all fronts, the location is very nice, close to the city center and also to the international airport, thus reduces the extra travel. The restaurant in the hotel is very nice with good food and again if it is not to anybody's taste then there are a host of restaurants very close to the hotel. Rooms... More

I was at the Rio Amazonas for multiple one-night stays in Dec/Jan. The staff is very courteous and the hotel is spotless. The location is right on the edge of "gringoland", which makes it a bit noisy with the clubs/bars nearby, particularly on Saturday nights. The rooms are being upgraded, so some have nice new hardwood floors and better minibars.... More

I stayed here on a Gap Adventure going to the Galapagos Islands. It was the perfect location, close to a lot of nightlife. Contrary to other peoples reviews, I did not find it noisy and I was on the 1st floor - so no big deal really. I even caught free internet on the 1st floor on my laptop. Score!... More

Four of us - two couples - stayed here for four nights as part of our GAP iStyle Quito tour. Although a bit noisy, the hotel is very clean, well located, with friendly, helpful staff, an adequate breakfast and a good dinner restaurant. We were extremely lucky to get a corner room on the 7th floor with huge windows, which... More
