Casa del Aguila is a small hotel, but very clean, cozy, comfortable and charming. I will recommend this hotel to travellers that are not looking for luxury, but comfort and relaxation. The rooms are small, but they serve the purpose.

We were originally slated for the Hostal Posada del Angel, but they were completely booked when we arrived due to the celebration of Cuenca's founding. But they graciously referred us to the Hotel Casa del Aguila, their nearby "sister hotel" -- and what a bonus that turned out to be! We ended up 6 nights in Cuenca, instead of the... More

She helped us so much and gave us great tips and booked things for us also which was a huge help. She also recommended great restaursnts to... More

For my money, the charming Hotel Casa del Aguila was the overwhelming winner in our latest visit to Cuenca. The conversion of this three-story, former colonial mansion was expertly done with a loving touch. The interior, starting with a lobby/courtyard featuring a rose petal-filled fountain, is gorgeous and soothing. A second-floor salon facing the street is a wonderful place to... More

It is an amazing place where the reminiscence of colonial times has been put together with a warm house that has a museum touch. It´s like feeling at home. People at front desk is very friendly. We stayed for a week, and found our room to be small, dark, no where to hang clothes ie hooks in bathroom, one night stand for queen bed. We also had huge spaces in the door wood slats, you could see out, or in thru them! The courtyard, with early risers is noisey, sounds rise, as does when folks get... More
