This is a good, reasonably priced hotel. It has no frills: if you're expecting room service and irons and hair dryers and internet connections this is not the place for you. If you want something clean, comfortable and moderately priced it's a good place. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean and you can get wireless internet if you... More

We stayed for 3 + 4 nights in a large room with good furniture and bathroom, heating and a beautiful balcony overlooking the San Fransisco Plaza. The hotel has a wonderfull courtyard where you can spend hours in the historical surroundings sipping the complementary tea or coca-leaves tea (against altitude problems). There are two buildings - best is No 2.... More

Nice quaint hotel, split into 2 part on the same street, we stayed in the part Mid-Street. Was nice and clean and good value for what we needed. Breakfast was adequate for needs, but best thing about the hotel was its location, perfect for exploring as it is only 3 minutes from the main square, just off Plaza De San... More

Like CalgaryWanderlust, I too stayed in room 102 for three nights and can confirm that the room is cold at night without any means to warm it up. Fortunately, the beds have heavy blankets but I wasn't planning on roughing it. I too heard scampering overhead and it went on occasionally, sometimes loudly. Not too good in a very dark... More

We stayed at this hotel in transit to Macchu Picchu and I enjoyed My stay. The location is close to shopping and dining in Cusco and most attractions are within walking distance. Our room was clean and the bathroom had hot water and a decent shower. It's not necessarily a unique hotel, but the courtyard is lovely and it really... More

There are actually two Hotel Garcilascos in the same street. I think I stayed in no.2. Interesting colonial courtyard with old but clean rooms surrounding. There is wifi in the courtyard and lounge and a roaring fire at night. Breakfast is buffet with lots of fruit which I appreciated. The staff are very helpful and honest. I left my ipod... More

I stayed there as a solo traveler. On the first 2 nights, I stayed at room 102. It was cold, damp and noisy. I would wake up early mornings to the sound of scamperings (rats ??) from the roof or the room above me. After my trek, I stayed again for 2 more nights as this was the hotel pre-arranged... More

Good location - just up from the main square, so near the action but you don't get all the noise from the main square. Give breakfast a miss and go somwhere else though! More

Hotel Garcilaso Stayed here for a total of 6 nights on 3 separate occasions within a 9 day period as part of a Tucan Tour around Peru. The first room we were given was 104, it was poor to say the least. The bathroom was grotty and damp. It was cold and there was flaking paint on the walls. This... More
