The swimming pool and the pool bar were nice. Room had balcony but two chairs there would have been nice. Our room was superior but the bathroom needs renovation. If you are a light sleeper do not take a room towards the swimming pool cause loud conversation and music from the bar kept us wake until 4 am. Breakfas was okay. I recommend to eat in town there are plenty of restaurants. Personnel was friendly and helpfull. Check-in and -out was easy and fast.

I came early for check in. Get it, room was not ready, they asked me to come at 12 noon, then at 2, 4... I was not able to get into the room until 8 PM! The room was comfortable, clean, but it was NOT soundproof. I could hear the neighbors, and the second night, the high music from the bar. They did give me an upgraded room after I complained.

This is not my first visit to Samiria but I was disappointed to see how the owners have not kept up with maintenance. Our room, family suite on the 7th floor of the second tower FLOODED! We requested a change of room 4 times until the general manager finally came to our room with a very rude and condescending answer telling me the hard rain was unusual for the area. I was born and raised in Iquitos, I know how hard rain gets down there! We were given a new smaller suite, this one didn't have a working air conditioner which was an inconvenience given the fact there were 5 of us in one room, they gave us an old fan which broke when we changed the speed. I complained again! This time the night supervisor came to our rescue! He was so nice and made sure we were given a room with working AC, thank you Christian! My main complain about this hotel is the lack of maintenance of the facility (elevator was dirty, elevator windows and second tower windows were dirty too) The whole second tower flooded from the 7th to the first floor. What this hotel is doing right is having great staff! The morning and night supervisors, the waiters and bartenders were all really nice and prompt with our requests, greeted us every day and made sure we were having a good stay post flood incident (with the exception of the general manager) Unfortunately, this is the last time we stay at Samiria unless the owners put some money back to make sure the maintenance of the buildings are well kept. It's unacceptable that a hotel room floods, none of the windows had silicone filling on the seams! And water from the rain was also seeping thru the ceiling, see pictures. They new a new general manager and I would recommend they give Christian a promotion. He was always running around making sure we and other guests had a good stay (the hotel was full during our 7 day stay) their restaurant is really good too and has great food.

This hotel is the best!!! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect! The hotel is beautiful and overlooks the Amazon River. Our room was incredible! It was very spacious with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. We even had a balcony overlooking the pool area!! The buffet breakfast was everything you could want to start your day. You can tell that the hotel pays special attention to the details when they even offer chia for breakfast! The hotel has a pool-side bar that includes chairs in the pool! You can swim right up to the bartender and take advantage of their food and drink specials. The food was perfect!! And the recommendations we got from staff for dinner reservations and things to do in Iquitos were spot on!! Every staff member was very friendly and helpful. We only wish that we could've stayed longer!! Thank you Samiria for an amazing vacation. EXCELLENT STAY!! We will be back!!

We stayed at the samiria hotel both before and after a 3 day trip into the Amazon. The first night we had dinner there as well the food was poor and not fresh at all. There was no hot water in our room which we decided not to complain about that it may have just been our room. The second time we stayed there again there was no hot water, after 4 days without a hot shower we were in desperate need, my husband informed the front desk and someone came to look at it 30mins later, he was on the phone the whole time but told us nothing we waited another 30mins before trying it again still no hot water!! The bathroom roof also had mildew and drops of water along a crack in the roof clearly from the bathroom in the room above ours as it was not condensation from the hot shower!!! After another hour and complaining twice more we were finally moved to another room which did have hot water but no towels! The majority of the staff looked like they didn’t want to be there and that we were more pests than guest, the bar tender at the pool was the most friendly and 1 of the front desk females. The information in our room said that we could exchange money at the front desk but we were told we couldn’t when we tried to the first time and was given an exchange reluctantly the second time. Breakfast was very basic, not what you expect from 4 stars. The whole place was over priced and rundown just like the hostile staff.

We wanted a nice place to stay after a week in the jungle, on first glance looks great. Reality is no hot water, terrible WiFi, staff look bored and constantly on their phones. A very small steak with a few fries was S/45 each! Breakfast was a sad buffet. In no way is this 4 star accommodation. Final straw is termites in the room. On the bright side the pool is nice and good laundry service.

We had a great stay at this hotel. After a long few days in the jungle, it was nice to spend the evening in the pool with a swim up bar. The rooms were very clean and the continental breakfast was fabulous. They had a free shuttle to the airport which was a major bonus. I would without hesitation, recommend this hotel!

At the end of July, 2017, my wife and I flew from Lima to iquitos where we had confirmed reservations with the Best Western Plus Samiria Jungle Hotel. When we arrived and showed our confirmed reservation we were told that "a pipe has broken and that rooms were inundated with water". They sent us to another hotel, of a much lower category, which had no elevator (my wife is unable to climb stairs). Fortunately we had an acquaintence in Iquitos. We phoned him and were able that night to stay in their living room. Next day, with no rooms available, we cut our trip short and took the plane back to Lima. In the airport we spoke with people who had stayed in the Samiria, who told us that no pipe was broken, that simply the hotel had overbooked and therefore could not honor my confirmed reservation. We complained to Best Western who told us "the hotel manager says that the pipe was broken". I asked them to check if they had an invoice for pipe repairs. They did not answer but offered us a $25 dollar "compensation" for having ruined a trip that we had dreamed years of doing. Best Western can keep its "generous" compensation, but it will never see a cent from us again.

Dear Guest, We are sorry for you to feel like this, but we did not offer any money when our pipe was broke 2 months ago, we had our pipe broken and help other guests including you to find and take to others hotels, we did not have an overbook but some of our guest stay and some of them had to move also. We did fixed our pipe that night, but we spend that night with the 30% of our property closed. We are sorry again for the inconvenience. Thank you Javier Kuo General Manager

I was traveling by work and stayed there by two nights, without hot water neither internet. The person in the front desk told me that they are working to repair it, until 15 minutes before to leave, she told that in this area of the hotel they never have hot water, and the internet always is very low. I am angry because they lie me all the time.

I had no idea what to expect in Iquitos in general. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel! It was clean, hot water, a tv with cable, air conditioning, clean linens and a balcony. What else can you ask for? The staff was friendly, but barely spoke English (which is my problem for not knowing Spanish as well as I should). Overall it was a great stay! I had a cold room each night, hot water to shower in and clean towels. They even have a little fridge with an assortment of cold drinks in the room.
