This hostel is really cool full of art and in a beautiful building. We stayed in the dorm room on the top floor, its kind of outside. There were peacocks parrots and tortoises that lived right outside our room in the patio like area. That was really interesting I got a kick out of that. The things I didn't like... More

This is a run down really fancy hotel. You will love it or hate it! It is not expensive so please consider this when judging what you get. Firstly - a wild zoo - peacocks with baby chicks, macaw, 3 tortoises and dog to name a few we saw. Masses of museum art, displays and other retro items and antiques.... More

This hotel is distinctly average. It's hard to find a cheap, nice place in central Lima and my boyfriend and I were keen to just find some where and this seemed ok. Recommended by lonely planet we thought it would be great but it's definitely not worth going to. The staff are unhelpful, leave you waiting for ages and speak... More

Budget-friendly stay in the heart of Centro Historico in Lima. An old casona (mansion) turned into a clean hostal. The antiques and paintings add unique and quirky charm to this place that seems like a time capsule. If you are looking for something different from the typical hostal, this place has character and an old-world feel. It's not upscale, it's... More

There's something about this place I find endearing. Odd public space with long staircases and patios adorned with larger than life classical sculpture... it's a real hoot. The rooms are tired but sheets are clean and it is close to much of the Centro points of interest. The restaurant was closed I think while we were there but the public... More

We chose this hostel based on the photo's we had seen. Somehow the pictures seem to come off as kind of antiquey but also sort of glamorous and exciting. The place is no such thing. It certainly has an antique old feel but it's really not in a good way. The staff is incredibly unhelpful. We had trouble locating our... More

Over the years, i stayed at Hotel Espana. It's a good choice for budget travellers choosing to stay in central Lima. Rooms vary quite a bit from dorms to single/double rooms. They also have some lockers to use with your own padlock, and store your backpack for free. On top is a basic cafe, although it's a pity they have... More

I travelled in Peru for 2 months and stayed in various budget hostels, I have to say this hotel is the worst of all. The room smell like 300 years old, in the room you can hear every noise in the hotel, no matter flushing the toilet, or neighbor snorring. In the night every hour the peacock make a big... More

I booked my own room for 3 nights when I stayed at Espana for 52 soles a night, I thought the place was great but I didn't like the thought of staff coming in and cleaning the room and making the bed when I had items of valve in the room. The day before I left one of the maids... More

This hotel is good for somebody who wants to get an hotel well located at low cost. If you like Hilton's hotel don't go there. But for the price I would return there any time. It was about 2 minutes by foot from the main square. There are restaurants and grocery store near the hotel. It was pretty clean but... More
