We had a fabulous time at the Rio Sagrado. The setting is perfect, the people are friendly, the restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced, and the baby llama and alpaca are fun to feed. This was a wonderful way to start our vacation in Peru and I highly recommend the Rio Sagrado to anyone and everyone visiting Peru. You won't... More

We had no idea what we would find when we booked this hotel. We were so pleased with what we found...located on a lovely river, this small hotel delivers first class, friendly service...led by Cesar in the restaurant and the GM Gorge, each of who personally works to make sure all expectations are exceeded. The siting reminded us of Jackson... More

Is not only the views of the sacred river that you get from your suite, not only the food that is deliciously served; is the great human team that creates a VIP service all along your stay. 5 stars to this hotel located in the middle of the sacred Valley, with the best views of the sacred river, amazing activities... We did not stay at this hotel but had lunch thereband had a good look around. The food was OK but not great. The hotel is in a beautiful location by the river with big gardens and lawns and very peaceful.  The rooms look very good. However, there are STEPS everywhere as the site is very steep so be warned!... More

Want to be indulged? Saturate your body with stunning views, a serene setting, super food, impeccable service? Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer than our two delightful nights. Beautifully designed, our room was a feast for the eyes. Contemporary, slick, beautifully appointed, comfortable with privacy and river views, we couldn't have been happier. The gorgeous bathroom with... More

My wife and I spent a few days at this beautiful resort between our trip to Machu Pichu. It simply exceeded our expectation. The property is very well laid out, the rooms are gorgeous - the shower look out to the river and mountains! The service is impeccable and discreet. We left some stuff behind and they rushed it to... Limited number of rooms set in a beautiful location overlooking the river. All the rooms have a river view. Stayed in a junior suite which was very large - nice sitting area with couch and several chairs. Bathroom was also very large, with walk in shower. As noted by another reviewer, since the site is on a river bank, it... More

I returned from a week in Peru in Late Feb/march 2012. My stay at the Rio Sagrado was a highlight on the trip. The hotel is perfectly situated between Cusco and Machu Picchu and Peru rails goes to the hotel. I booked through my Fine Hotels and Resort program through Amex and was upgraded. I also had breakfast and a... More

We loved that our room was so close to the fast-running Urubamba river. The sound of water is always relaxing. The property is amazing with the mountains right in front of it and with beautiful jasmine-scented walks and spacious rooms. The service was impeccable and the staff extremely friendly and professional. As for the food, it was one of the... More

The flora and fauna here puts most places to shame including Maui. Even the hotel is newer 2-3 years depending on who you ask the vegetation is mature the views breathtaking. The walk down the 100+ steps to the restaurant and spa and most activities is also breathtaking especially coming back up. I wouldn't recommend for older people or anyone... More

Dear Carobama, Thank you for your comments. We have just purchased a number of extra heaters to help keep the rooms cosy, as you mention, this is the season of chilly evenings and crisp sunny mornings. We have also received some new exquisite alpaca blankets for extra sleeping comfort, these are available for our guests if they wish. Regarding the... More
