Hotel Europe is a budget option if you're traveling on business. It's one of those places that you can't help but think of it's glorious days back in the day, maybe 2 or 3 decades ago. Nothing much to renew the hotel has been done ever since. But, stil, beds are comfortable, rooms are relatively big and the shower is... More

Located on a central neighborhood with nothing of interest at all. Room was neat, bed was acceptable, small bathroom (avoid it completely if you are fat). Breakfast only acceptable. But the most ridiculous of all: you cannot have the remote control of the air conditioning set. So, everytime you want to change temperature, you have to call front desk and... More

Bad service and rude staff. No one helped with our bags, they just stood there watching. We payed for a parking spot(and extra 9$us) and we were toled that they sold it to someone else. O they only have 5 parking spots under the hotel and it is very hard to get in and out of. Room smelled musty, you... More

Small, old, ants in the bed, dozens of mosquitoes, the smell of the kitchen through the bathroom in the bedroom, the 28 year old elevator with a broken brake, bearings or what ever.... If you enjoy a normal night of sleep STAY AWAY from this hotel. The hotel says it has three stars, I wouldn't give it more then one. There are... More

We really enjoyed our time at The Europa. The dining room was a top feature for us and the relaxing atmosphere in the foyer was helpful to calming exhaisted travellers. The internet access was free for 15 minutes and there was an elderly gentleman who played the foyer's piano for hours on end. When we were there we were impressed... More

My friend and I stayed at this hotel and found it value for money. The reception and front door staff weere very friendly and welcoming to non spanish speakers. The rooms were a little small but were quite satisfactory for a short stay. The hotel is so close to the main street and most of the attractions in Montevideo. More

Old hotel, conveniently located in the downtown of Montevideo with everything available at walkable distance - be it shopping, dining or nightlife. The staff at the lobby is very friendly and helpful though not all of them are conversant with English. Get all your questions answered when you meet someone who knows English :-) Rooms are not too spacious and... More

It´s a very located hotel but it´s very old. The beds are too narrow. The towels are old and they don´t change they daily. The shower is the worst part - narrow, small and with disgusting curtains (we could see pubic hair on it from the previous guests). really really disgusting. the staff is friendly and helpful. the place for... Our stay was part of a package tour. We asked for 2 beds but were shown a room with 1 double- way too small since my husband is quite large. We were given a very small room with 2 narrow beds- nothing like the picture on their web site. We had to ask for a glass since there was only... More

We received two connecting rooms for 130 US$, which was quite good for family with 3 girls aged 4, 7 and 9. The hotel is quite old, in the rooms this is noted especially in the bathrooms, but everything works and its reasonable. There is indeed a vent connecting all bathrooms on different floors. From this vent you can hear... More
