The problem with this hotel is that pieces of bricks are constantly falling off the walls, therefore the parking place as well as the paved area near the hotel are much of a public threat. During my last visit, my car was hit by a brick which had fallen overnight and the hotel stuff claimed they were not responsible for... More

We stayed at this hotel twice, for one night each, at the start and end of a tour around Romania. Contrary to what we had read about this hotel, we were surprised to be quite impressed. The rooms were sufficiently well furnished, very, very quiet - with little noise from outside and none at all from adjoining rooms, despite them... More

The main advantage of Capitol hotel is it's perfect location on Calea Victoriei, the very city centre. The rooms are not too big, rather dark and you can feel like the hotel has it's years. But I really liked it's climate - a bit of "Million Dollar Hotel" like. Good for business or tourists needs, not neceserilly for just-married or... More

Upon entering the first room we were given, we immediately found an old cut apart plastic two-liter that had been used as an ashtray, filled with dirt and cobwebs, next to one of the beds. Beyond that, the sheets were stained and the closet doors were broken. So, we asked for another room seeing as this one hadn't been cleaned... More

The welcome was great. Nice room. Good furniture. Amazing food. The waiters don't disturb you too much with room service. They have an amazing pool. I remember this situation when I could hear sounds from the neighboring room. Before I could complain about it, the reception called up apologizing and mentioning that they managed to change the room for those... More

Horrible hotel. Dirty towels and linen. Had to sleep with my clothes on. We spent one of the evenings with no power. No one even cared to give us candles. More

Two step backs in time. One in the 1980s, the other one in the 1900s. This hotel is in need of a drastic refurbishment. Excellent location, excellent architecture, terrible furniture. More

I stayed at the Capitol for 1 night and that was enough. The location is ok and the main attractions are within walking distance but thats really the only thing going for it. The staff are quite miserable and the decor is poor. When I went, Bucharest was very hot and humid and there is no air con at the... More

Recently was on a small tour to Romani. On the first night we stayed at this Hotel. Very nice exterior, then down hill from there. Rude lady at the front desk, very plain lobby, room was like entering a time warp to the Soviet days. Furniture was old and I even had a radio that appeared it was made in... More

Aside from the very unfriendly service desk, the Soviet styled walpaper and furnature and the boiled hot dogs for breakfast. I had some of the worse sleeps in my life from the "nipping" of bed bugs. The sheets were changed daily but I could still feel something crawling and nipping at me which I'm sure must have been bed bugs.... More
