I did not stay at Monkey Lodge but rather booked a half day kayaking trip/boat tour with Fabrice at Monkey Lodge. We were picked up at our hotel in Panama City and brought out to Gamboa (about at 35 min drive). There we went out on a boat tour of the canal and some islands in the Chagres River. Fabice... More

We chose Monkey Lodge because of its proximity to Panama Canal, and because it wasn't too near the city. It's off the beaten path but only just. The owners, Fabrice and Sabrina, were very hospitable and friendly, and the dinners varied each day, and were very tasty and wholesome, although no choice was given as to what was served. The... Panama's city is just like any other major metro we've seen so wanted to get a typical, tropical panama getaway feel. Monkey Lodge and its staff created the perfect ambiance, a truly unique, hidden, tropical retreat that families and couples can enjoy equally. One on one tours that are not the typical "tourist" tours you'd take are what top it... More

Great staff and what a pleasure to be able to touch the hand of the Capuchin monkey in the safe monkey enclosure. The other two were not as trusting of strangers but sure enjoyed cavorting with their "mom and dad". The pool was a treat as were the included breakfasts. Hard to find from coordinates and stay cool if you're... More

Loved it! It's quiet, relaxing, and the service/food was excellent! No complaints!!! If there is only one thing someone should understand is that it's a distance from Panama City, you're not really leaving the lodge for a meal...however we loved our driver who was very informative.

The Monkey Lodge was the first place we stayed during our trip through Panama. We chose it because we wanted to relax from our flight and wanted to explore the region round the Panama Canal...It was a perfect place...It was close to the new Highway that connects Panama and Colon/the Caribbean Coast, so that we could reach every place of... We recently stayed four nights at Monkey Lodge Panama. Fabrice and Sabrina are warm and welcoming. We ate every meal at the Lodge as the food was deliciious and generous.. The grounds are lush, tropical, safe, and well maintained. We were close to the city yet felt secluded and close to a tropical rain forest and the canal. Our cottage... More

We were only able to stay one night at this location, and it was great. We arrived way early 9:00 am and Fabrice was grasious enough to allow us the stay on the grounds while the other guests completed their stay and the staff had time to turnover the rooms all the time while attending to the needs of the... We loved the monkeys, they alone would make the lodge the place to stay, but the open space, the clean, well kept cabins, the helpful, friendly, warm and informative Fabrice and Max made it a relief and pleasure to find this place in Panama. The lodge was a bit out of the way, but it was my favourite place that... More

This hotel has monkeys! That's almost enough to give it an excellent review by itself, but the owner also gives tours, and the boat tour he gave us of the Panama Canal was probably the best we've ever been on of the dozens I've tried all over the world. Really fantastic - swimming under waterfalls, seeing all sorts of wildlife... More
