On reaching my room in this hotel, it became clear that the rate I paid reflected the location of the hotel in the heart of old Kotor. While the bedroom was clean, decor was basic and jaded. More importantly, the air conditioning seemed not to be working. Breakfast was poor. In summary, this was not particularly good value for money. More

We wanted to stay overnight so we had more time to explore the area. The hotel was conveniently situated within the walled city. We had to haul our luggage from the pay parking lot on the dock to the hotel because no vehicular traffic is permitted within the walls. This was not a problem because the distance was short, on... The only really good point about this hotel is the location - right in the beautiful old town of Kotor. As for the hotel itself: it's rather run down and rooms need some renovations and new furniture. We didn't have a view, only the wall of the next building, but at least we could open the window. Breakfast was more... More

We arrived in the bus terminal in Kotor from Dubrovnik. (about 3-1/2 hrs, sit on the right side of the bus for spectacular views!) The Old Town is a walkable 10 minutes from the bus terminal. The hotel sent a great photo of the old city (complete with arrows) and how to maneuver the streets to reach the hotel. Reception... More

We loved Kotor! Magical city like a miniature Dubrovnik but without so many tourists and felt more real. The hotel is in a great location in town, but is not memorable. Although efficient and well run, we were slightly disappointed with our room, which was in the attic and lacked headroom in all but a small strip near the door!... More

The room is very basic as is the hotel itself. It all has the East bloc feel. The hotel is right in the middle of Kotor. My room was amazingly loud because of all the tourists hanging out in the little square directly under my window. Breakfast is included and they make any sort of egg dish you want. Think... More

Despite being located in the centre of Kotor, Hotel Marija is not good value. The fittings and fixtures are in need of replacement . We had a broken shower and TV. the hotel was always full of cigarette smoke including upstairs outside the bedrooms where the housemaid smoked and the dining room where other staff also smoked. The breakfast was... More

Hotels in Kotor old town are not numerous so we expected to pay more for a good location. The hotel seemed clean albeit a bit smoky but was pretty dated especially the bathrooms. It was well located though and breakfast was fine if dull. Kotor itself is very beautiful- make the effort to climb to the fort. There isn't much... More

This is a very warm and friendly hotel situated up a narrow street in the middle of the old town of Kotor. Fortunately, the bar/nightclub opposite the hotel no longer exists which meant that i had a very peaceful night's sleep. There is oak panelling throughout the hotel giving it a warm and traditional feel. Breakfast was a choice of... More

I'd read a good review of Hotel Marija a couple of years ago in a newspaper and magically remembered the name when looking for a hotel this year. The prices have certainly gone up a lot since then but the same can be said of all the hotels in Kotor, some of them dramatically. Hotel Marija still remains one of... More
