I stayed at Manichan GH for 8 nights and loved every one. It was really a place to come "home" to after a day of sightseeing and just relax. There is a large community area where you can meet with other travellers, share travel tips and enjoy a cold Beer Lao. Room was clean and comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was... More

This is a wonderful guesthouse that makes you feel at home. It's clean, location is good, room rates are fair, wi-fi works fine, staff is friendly and water, coffee and tea are complimentary and available the whole time. There's also a fridge where you can buy beer, soft drinks and even wine. But what really stands out is their breakfast... More

After staying in an other guesthouse for one night, we moved to the Manichan and immediately felt like beeing home. Checked in a privet double room with fan and shared bathroom and were totally satisfied. The rooms and amenities are extraordinary clean and the stuff is really friendly! We would recommend this guesthouse 100%!

We came back in Luang Prabang after leaving it 1 week. We strolled along the Mekong-side of town and walked into Mahichans garden. Felt good immediately! Rooms are good and clean, modern bathroom with hot shower, cold mineral-water always free available, perfect breakfast (the best we had in Asia!). Location is perfect: close to the Mekong with all the little... More

We stayed four nights initially, in a private room with bathroom and aircon and were very happy with the experience as we found it to be very relaxed and nice atmosphere. The breakfast was great, however Peter the owner didnt quite like when u didnt opt for the breakfast. We went up north for a week and came back for... More

Dear Tripadvisor, these guests have been telling lies constantly. Firstly, they have tried to accuse the maids of stealing money in order to get the room even cheaper than 15$, while the high season room rate is 35$ a night. Our housekeepers very loyal to us for more than 3 years, and no other guest has ever complained about theft.... More

We stayed 3 nights. Rooms are a good size. Bathroom does have a few issues with constant water on floor. Hot water in shower is a bit hit and miss but ok for quick shower. Breakfast is outstanding. Beds are hard but consistent with the rest of Asia. Great location near river, eateries and riverside places to have a drink... More

I stayed at Manichan recently with two of my friends so the three of us shared a room. The extra bed that was put in was not even a bed, it was like sleeping on a concrete slab which gave me 3 nights of very unpleasant sleep. The sheets also smelt quite dirty and the hot water was a hit... More

I cannot recommend Manichan Guesthouse more highly. This was the first time we have stayed in a guesthouse but it wont be the last. The rooms were great, as was the breakfast, the location and the local flavour, but what makes Manichans stand out was the atmosphere. Travellers from around the world gathered around the table at breakfast and then... More

I stayed with Peter and Manichan for 10 nights in Jan2013. After that stay my travelling companions and I all greed that staying in a guesthouse was far better than staying in a hotel. We met many guests and often sat with them in the evening chatting about our travelling experiences over a glass or two of red wine or... More

For me Manichans guesthouse was really a home! Peter and Manichan are verry friendly and help you in all - what ever you want. The house is very clean, has a warm atmosphere and even the women for cleaning the house are extremely friendly! Manichan and Peter know how they can offer you a good stay! And the breakfast ist...
