We left here after two nights. Quite simply it was overpriced for what it was. The service was poor, the beds uncomfortable, and a little off the beaten track. Not terrible but we felt it was not worth it in the end and have moved shop for the rest of our stay

I stayed at this guesthouse upon moving to Laos. This is the only place I have ever stayed where the family who owns the guesthouse really cares about getting to know their guests. They will do anything for you, and genuinely want to help you have a wonderful stay at their home. It is a great place to stay!

In all fairness I arrived in the middle of the construction of a 2nd building or renovation if the 2nd building was there already. So I will not comment on anything affected by construction. Cold River, hands down is the best place I stayed in Laos. There are dorm rooms, twins, singles and doubles to choose from. I recommend anything on the top floor.
