Great place to stay with personable service. Very clean and comfortable with the softest sheets you'll find in Asia. Easy walk to the main area of the city, both river fronts, the night markets and Phousi Hill. John and his staff were really helpful with advice for activities during my stay. The sports bar and restaurant downstairs are also great... More

I like to hit the Pizz a bit and this place originally appealed to me because I was travelling as a solo female in a country I knew little about. I reckoned that it would be good to be able to knock a few back and be very close to my room. One box checked. This place is great. The... More

And stay at the Aussie Guesthouse. Home comforts while traveling abroad are hard to come by and after nearly four months in S.E. Asia, I had all but given up on finding any - then I walked into the Aussie Guesthouse with their beautiful, spotless rooms, breezy wooden porch, and smiling staff. Proprietor John, despite running a restaurant downstairs (that... More

We spent about 5 nights with John, Jenny and the ever smiling team at the guesthouse in May 2012. John is a great source of info on the area (although he still hasn't climbed Mt Phu Si....can't blame him, it nearly killed me!) and can steer you in the right direction regarding prices and where to go- and not go... I'm really happy I found this guesthouse. This is not a hotel or a fancy place but you get alot for your money. Luang Prabang is expensive so choosing accomodation is a bit tricky. You can go for an expensive hotel or find a good guesthouse and spend more money on wine and excursions. Many guesthouses are bad and basic... More
