we stayed here for 3 nights in April. It was clean, the bed was huge and comfortable and the bathroom was clean with a nice shower and definitely a door! We liked sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. Which as it's close to everything was a great way to relax. Breakfast with a view of the river... More

Hotel very clean with good breakfast at riverside restaurant. Staff Friendly and helpful. Easy to walk to main street, night market and National Museum.... Faults - no WiFi in room only in reception area and restaurant, no mini-refrigerator, you have to live out of your suitcase as only 6 coat hangers and no where else to put clothes or travel... More

I was searching for a room for three persons and had diffculty choosing as we had an older traveler. While I enjoyed the look of this hotel, I was dismayed at some of the same points people made here. We had a room on the side of the main building, so technically the villa, which I was told was the... More

We arrived here after the long bus journey from Vang Vieng and were greeted with a welcome drink in the main hotel so we could relax for a little while. The hotel is in a great location, opposite the Mekong River and about 5 minutes walk from the main street and night market so it was perfect for us. Our... More

The room is so small you can hardly fit your bags in. The beds are hard as a rock you might at well sleep on the floor. There is rising damp on the walls, there is no toilet door, it's disgusting don't stay there. More

A good setting as the views from the riverfront at sunset are wonderful but i think the hotel is resting on its past laurels. The owner and his son received prizes for this hotel's restoration some years ago and they haven't moved on . yes there is free internet but they don't specify when you book if you are in... More

We (4 friends in our 60's) stayed here mid-January 2012, after taking a mesmerizing 2-day slow boat down the Mekong River from Chiang Khong in northern Thailand. The rawness and reality of Mekong river towns like Pak Beng did not prepare us for the slightly Disney-land feel of Unesco village Luang Prabang. Sala Prabang takes advantage of Luang's physical beauty... More

Sala Prabang Hotel is a small and comfortable hotel. Although it is not advertised as a boutique hotel, that would be the impression I get from it. It is very pinturesque and is located in front of the Mekong River, close to many shops, restaurants, and cafe, and the best view of the Mekong. It is very comfortable, and offers... More

Situated over the road from the Mekong and a long line of restaurants and places for "happy hour" (cocktails $3.20) the Sala Prabang consists of four villas separated by small shops. The villa we stayed in was up a side street opposite a small temple. Well appointed rooms with an excellent bathroom though lacking hanging space. Within walking distance of... More
