It's actually quite a nice guesthouse except for two things, which we couldn't overlook. Despite the central location, we were woken up and disturbed by the noisy construction taking place opposite our room (the owner is expanding his premises, but if so, his guesthouse should not be considered as peaceful and quiet as this only happens after 5pm). Next is... More

We stayed here in late August 2011 and found it to be just perfect for our needs, it is only 150-200 meters from the main street but is so quiet and tucked away, the only noise we heard was from the temple drums. It is hard to describe to people how you can walk out of your hotel room and... More

It's on a small lane just steps from the main street and night market. The location is perfect, very quiet and peaceful but close to the action. There's a nice terrace on the 2nd floor. From here we could hear the monks in the nearby temple while reading and enjoying drinks. Our room was small, but clean and tidy. The... More

Such a peaceful lane. I'm the only guest here, and 2 other guesthouses in this lane appear empty. This looks the nicest. Just 50m from the main drag, and maybe just a 100m the opposite way to the Mekong - via a pretty deserted Wat. Paid $15. Should've haggled more... Enjoyed it. More

Nice place to be, friendly and supportive staff. Central in Luang Prabang, but in quiet street. More

The location of the guesthouse is right in the center of everything but it's on a small quiet street which keeps the noise out. We were in the room right next to the lobby and we heard no noise from outside. The guesthouse has character. The rooms have great furniture and beds. The TV had many channels and we had... More

I was able to walk off the street and secure a downstairs room for $US 15, but I wouldn't think this is usual. Problems were there was no window view, no TV remote, and no fridge - all provided at another nearby guesthouse I stayed at previously for the same rate. However, the bed linen was very clean and comfortable... More

I stayed at Thatsaphone for 5 nights in early September 2010. The guest house is well located in a quite Soi (no vehicle access except for motobikes) which goes to Chuomkong temple, 2 minutes walk from the main street (Sisavangvong Rd) and about 3 minutes to the Mekong Esplanade. Rooms are economically priced ($20 for an upstairs room and $15... More

When we arrived in Luang Prabang, we stayed a night each at 2 other guesthouses (Muonglao @ $20 - good value, but a bit of a hike from the main drag) & 1 on Khem Khong on the Mekong stretch (forgotten its name) @ $16 - also good value but very poor layout bathroom-wise. We decided to lash out for... More

Best location in Luang Prabang, half block off main street and on same alley as my favorite temple in town. Get a room upstairs, preferably by outside staircase. Showers are not great but overall safe and pleasant experience. No frills, but fantastic value. More
