A beautiful hostel, more of a hotel rather it has beautiful courtyard, dingy, dark really small rooms, dirty itchy linen and good clean bathroom with terrific hot shower. Location is allright and there are plenty of restaurants, tour agencies etc around.Breakfast was as usual miserly and the Wifi though slow worked non stop. The staff can be friendlier and more... This hotel is a beautiful old colonial building and one block away from the main square, so a great location , I only stayed here one night as part of a group tour with Oasis Overland. We had a nice room just off the lovely courtyard. I would stay there again.

I stayed at Hostal Sucre for six nights before heading to La Paz. Overall an ok hostel. It's more of a hotel than a hostel really. - Comfy beds. - Excellent showers. As hot as you can stand and great pressure. - Great location - minutes from the main plaza - Quiet guests - not a party hostel. Breakfast is... More

Location 1 1/2 blocks from Plaza 25th de Mayo is very convenient for low cost restaurants - driven largely by the university student population in the area. Beautiful courtyards with incredibly uncomfortable chairs. Rooms are off the courtyards on two floors, and are rather dark and dingy. A bit depressing. Breakfast for most travellers is the most basic I have... More

The hostel is really quite plush, with grand gardens and bedrooms. The room was large, ornately furnished, clean, cable tv and the best shower I've had since travelling. Very powerful and hot. It's not cheap at $35 so we only stayed one night. Wifi isn't great but works if a little slow. The breakfast is not worth getting out of... More

But the location is great, the central courtyard is great and the shower is fantastic...what's wrong-the rooms are super small, the drains don't work and the linen needs an update (badly). The breakfast is pretty meagre but considering the price you shouldn't expect too much-the fresh juices are great though

My girlfriend and I stayed there two nights. The service is good, staff is not particularly welcoming but helpful if you have questions. Our room didn't have any window (only 1 in the bathroom). We also experienced an internet breakdown during half a day... Otherwise the breakfast is OK, the place is clean and the location is OK.

Very good hostal, nice courtyards, clean, quiet. Most staff spoke English. Breakfast could be better, only dry rolls and jam, but this is usual in South America. Hot water showers. Highly remmended although single rooms are a little expensive.

I had gone there based on the suggestions from a friend of mine. I have travelled a bit and can afford not to "rough it out". Unfortunately, this place felt a bit like "roughing it out" and would not recommend it if you are used to a certain leve of comfort. It was clean, as far as I could tell,... More

Wonderful old colonial building, still kept as if it's a home... Staff were charming and helpful. The location was brilliant, just around the corner from the main square. The WiFi was excellent and the courtyard is wonderful to sit and meet other guests. The room was good for the price and bathroom fine. Pleanty of hot water. Would really recommend... More
