4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2013 NEW

I stayed here three nights, the door room was big, but there every bed had a fan and light so it was quite comfortable. The bathrooms weren't the cleanest, but the price at $2.50 was very good value. The rooftop bar is quite decent, the food was nice but a little overpriced. Draft beers at 50 cents is always good.... More

This is a conveniently located place with a great rooftop bar and cheap beers but the rooms aren't very clean and for gods sake do not do your laundry there, mine was not clean and it took a day to get it back.

Hostel is very cheap, my bed in a large dorm was $2.50. The room had no ceiling light so wa very dark. But each bed had a light, a fan and 2 sockets. As a whole i found the hostel fine but a huge put off was that my bed sheets were dirty. (dont think theyd been changed) so i... More

The atmosphere was great, it is a huge guesthouse with a football court in the garden, the Restaurant was good and the sunset rooftop view was awesome! Now I've been there on April (the hottest month of the year) and my fan room was the hell itself ! I couldn't open the window and inside of the room didn't run... More

The Garden Village guesthouse is one of the best examples that accomodations recommended by Lonely Planet are not always the best. When I came there with my boyfriend to book a room it took almost five minutes until the girls at the reception even noticed me standing there. They can by pretty rude and don't seem very interested in their... More

Other than the fact that someone very carefully looked through our backpack and found a pair of jeans that had 600 USD and a pair of iPhone headphones, and chose the headphones and 300 USD, I have no complains. It is the cheapest you can find in Siem Reap. For backpackers only. As for the money, we had no time... More

We have arrived in Siem Reap early morning, got a tuk tuk from the bus station for 1 dollar, asked for the garden village hostel: Is has been one of the best places in Cambodia, as soon as you arrive they will give you a kind of menu with all kinds of rooms available, single, double etc..with fan, with A/C,... I don't have much to say....the rooms smelt disgusting, they were filthy, i could not justify the $5 per night for a single room...it looked worse than what a prison cell would probably look like. i would never stay there again!!!!!!!!!

As followers of my reviews will know, I tell it how it is. This is starting to become a sprawling mismatch of blocks of rooms and dorms, it needs a definite makeover and to get rid of the dross element of backpackers (nothing wrong with backpackers, I am one myself having been travelling in the Far East for over 6...
