We got to the hotel late evening with a reserved/paid in advanced room with balcony and ocean view. I decided to stay on night here before continuing down the Pacific Coast to San Lorenzo. The prices were unusually high for the city. HoJO in Manata is a nice hotel, well maintained. It would really help if the desk staff spoke enough English to check you in. They had to call a waiter over to make sense of our reservation. “Fantastic service”

Although Manta is not the attraction and town it used to be, the hotel was situated beautifully on the beach, with ocean views from every room. Clean, friendly, and excellent service. I benefitted personally from the laundry services. Breakfast was satisfactory as well.

“Keep in mind its a Howard Johnson”

Very nice view, rooms are cinder block but clean, beds are clean and comfortable, rooms are well appointed, hotel is on the beach but has no beach access. There is a pool and a decent exercise room. The food was quite good, free parking, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
