Owner aggressive, the description leads you for “misunderstanding “ There is no terrace available Say they offer aircon, then they want to charge you for it. The flat screen tv is in a common area for the owner. Tho good located

This is one of the best places we've seen in India, and that is mainly because Das is an amazing host which cooks great (curry) breakfast every morning. Next to that a top location which is very quiet with a good airco.

You couldn't ask for a more accommodating and helpful host. Das made us feel like we part of his family, and he showed us how to navigate around town to accomplish all of our tasks before setting off on the Rickshaw Run. Great value for money!

Das' homestay is a little gem tucked away down one of the side streets in Fort Kochi. We stayed for a week prior to taking part in the January Rickshaw Run, and overall, it was a great place to stay to start our journey. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the AC works like a dream and there's a shared patio out front, which ends up being a fantastic spot to watch the world go by. Das himself is incredibly helpful, and will do everything he can to help solve any local issues you may have. The breakfasts were an absolute delight, a real tour through southern Indian cuisine. Try their Dosa, you won't regret it!

A great, authentic homestay, run by Das and his family who live downstairs. Immaculately clean room, beds, sheets and towels and bathroom. Das has plenty of information about local excursions, shows ets….we booked a backwater tour, which he arranged seamlessly for us, but unfortunately wasn’t what we’d hoped, so check details. He did look out for our safety as we were there over new year, which was lovely, and invited us for homemade cake and wine to celebrate. Down a quiet enough road, but max 5-7 mins walk to beach area, restaurants and most amenities, although shops at either end of the street offer everything you need. We had oe of the front rooms which have their own little outdoor terraces, which was lovely, as there is no other outdoor space (apart rom the roof!) Would recommend this home stay for its cleanliness and warm welcome from the owner.

We found the Das Residency quite by chance. A homestay in off a quiet lane in Fort Kochi - we spent five nights here in the end in a fan cooled room. Fabulously friendly family, who were extremely pleasant and friendly, we paid 900 INR a night. Our first room was the first you come to on the right in the homestay, - the last two nights we stayed in the second room on the right, which was a little larger and cooler - as the sun doesn't shine into the room on the afternoon. Cold water showers. Two other rooms had balconies (and I think aircon) The only noise botheration was the cockerel, which I cheerfully could have shot after two early mornings. Very comfortable, clean rooms, with great mosquito netting at ALL windows. There's also a seating area outside the rooms (there are four in total), with sofa and TV. Good internet access. Seating also on the roof and lots and lots of space for clothes drying.

We stayed at this lovely home-stay in November. Our room was spotlessly clean and a very good price. There was a communal room with a TV, DVD player and even fruit on the table available for use by all the guests. The home-stay was in a perfect location; a nice quiet part of Fort Kochi and only a very short walk from the centre. The owner was incredibly hospitable; helping us to secure our motorbike, telling us about the area, supplying endless cups of delicious coffee and making sure our stay was comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. It was also a great pleasure to meet the owner's father and to hear his wonderful stories. If (or rather when) we go to Kochi again, we will go straight to Das Home Stay. We can thoroughly recommend this home-stay for a very comfortable, reasonably priced, friendly and welcoming place to stay.

Best part of this place is the location. It´s just a short walk from the center of Fort Kochi and the jettys aren´t too far either. Our room was clean and quite big with a shared balcony (with no furniture). This place also has a common TV room. Only problem was the price. We stayed for one night and paid 900 rupees for double room. If we had stayed longer I definately would have bargained hard or gone elsewhere. Maybe if you want to watch the TV you´ll be happy to pay the extra 200 or so. Overall a nice place but not worth 900/night.
