Far from being a standard package, my host, Jacob had gone to a lot of trouble to put together activities, adventures and recipes that would be of particular interest to me. I went on this holiday to inspire and replenish myself and really couldn't have hoped for more. Would really recommend this stay to women travellers nervous of travelling alone... More

It was our first trip to India and as foodies it was the perfect vacation for us. We learnt how to cook delicious vegetarian dishes and with owner Jacob's attentive help, we discovered spices, fruits, vegetables and more with the insight only another foodie could give us. In addition among other non-food visits, we also experienced baby elephants being washes.... More

My fiance and I stayed at the Pimenta for the 3 night cooking holiday during the first week of Jan 2012. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a tasty glass of fresh pineapple juice and a friendly chat with our host Jacob. As we talked and got the tour of the gardens we quickly realized this was going to... More

I stayed at Pimenta to do the week long cookery course, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. Jacob is a tutor, guide and historian all rolled in to one, and I saw and learnt more than I ever could have imagined. Not only did I bring home a book full of new recipes to cook, but... More

I was totally enthralled by my week-long stay at The Pimenta! Jacob, the host, was a most charming and thoughtful gentleman, who shared his passion for the local food and culture with a refreshing sensitivity. I was expecting a week of cooking lessons in a lovely rural setting, but experienced so much more - so many interesting excursions to local... More

When I arrived in a taxi from cochi that Jacob ( the host) had organised he greeted me with a fresh juice in the common... More

Our bungalow was wonderful -clean large and with surrounding gardens it felt totally rural and peaceful. despite being not far off the main road. the food was fabulous. we did not cook, but we did eat well. The highlight was spending time with the host, Jacob Matthews and participating in the trips he arranged for us. we saw places and... More

I stayed at The Pimenta for three days and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The organisational and hosting skills of Jacob were exceptional. We were initially welcomed with fruit juice and a lunch at which Jacob joined us. He then took us on a local tour of the area seeing the real Kerala. We visited such places as a Pineapple market,... The place is just small and lovely. The cottages are beautiful, with all the comfort you wish. Jacob is a fabulous host: he did everything possible to make our stay at the farm as pleasant as possible. I love his integrity and all his efforts to offer an organic, sustainable green vacation for foodies and curious people! As a personal... More

I spent almost 1 week at La Pimenta in January this year, and im still talking about it to friends. From the initial welcome of fresh juice and fruit, right through the day I left for Kovalam, I was welcomed, spoilt and educated about Kerala, food and general life in the area. Jacob, the host, is professional in his manner,... More
