Perfect night rigt at the harbour where the ferries start and arrive to/from Bunaken Island. Ask for a family room in the 5th floor. They are really big and you have a beautiful vieg over the city/harbour.

We are experienced travelers in SE Asia with children aged 9 and 12 years. We booked this hotel as a stop over between flight and boat trip. It is conveniently located in the harbor where you find the ferries and speed boats to the islands around North Sulawesi. It is only a 5 min walk away to the boat to Siau that was our goal to reach in the morning. It was easy to check in, and it was working well using third party online booking service. Our room was big and clean, beds were comfortable, and everything was in working order. The lobby clerk understood English well. This is not a luxury hotel, but a good alternative as a stop over and when being on the move. It was reasonably prized.

My boyfriend and I got in around midnight and needed a place for one night before heading to Bunaken the next morning. Location of this place is great, right next to the harbour, beds are very comfortable, brand new air conditioner. Only downfall is that the night time staff are a little intimidating, and the ‘lobby’ was filled with men who all sit around and watch you walk in. There were a few cockroaches in the room which we hadn’t seen on other reviews of this place, however was not a huge deal for us and was perfect was perfect for one night.

Our trip was to Bunaken Island. As we knew that we arrived in Manado at mid night, we decided to stay overnight in the nearest harbor in Manado to Bunaken Island. Celebes Hotel is a recommended place for that because the harbor is exactly behind the hotel. A man was assigned to welcome the guests at the night. We felt like dealing with a police. He is not friendly at all. Even the bellboy didn't offer us to bring our luggage. Then we go up to our room 502 by a small elevator to level 4 and taking stairs to the level 5. I like our room. It's big for only 346.000 IDR and we got the nice harbor view (see the pictures I attached). The price is included in-room Wi-Fi and 2 breakfast. The food is good but beverage is just fruit drink. While we were having breakfast 2 dutch women asked us whether we would like to go to Bunaken, so she offered us to share the boat to Bunaken. Actually there is a public boat from the harbor to Bunaken that leaves at about 1:40 P.M (Sometimes it leaves at 3 P.M to wait the boat full) everyday except Sunday. We intended to take the public boat because it's cheap 50K IDR for non-Indonesian and 25K IDR for Indonesians. It was a public holiday (Thursday), so we thought that there is a public boat. I went to the receptionist to confirm whether there was a public boat or not. The receptionist was not the last night man. She was a beautiful girl with a nice smile. She helped us to reserve our place on the public boat and at 1 P.M 2 men from the public boat came to take us from our hotel to the public boat.

It's not my first time at the hotel and I think they need to renovate it because it was the first one in Manado. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's very close to the public boat to Manado and 20 minuts away from the airport. YOu have so many shops around. The restaurant food is good and no too expensive.
