We have had the pleasure of staying at some very charming hotels in the Middle East and North Africa where old houses had been tastefully renovated (please see our other prior reviews), and so we had hoped that Akkotel , describing itself as “boutique” on its website, would be in that category. It is not: although the building itself has... More

An old-world charm boutique hotel in the old city of Acco. The Ottoman style furnishings, décor, ceiling friezes and lightings lend to the character of the renovated building. We stayed here for a night with others in our tour group. The hotel is managed by the owners who were pleasant and courteous and ensured that our stay was comfortable. The... More

This small hotel was inside the walls of Old Acre (Akko). Owners were on site and incharge. Made sure we had a great and safe parking spot. We were well taken care off and given great suggestions. One night we stay'e in for Dinner - was one of best meals we ever had at any Hotel (30 countries). GPS was... More

Our 2 boys (almost 9 & 11) were enchanted by this carefully restored boutique hotel. Easily a 4 star experience. The hosts were open, generous and charming - free wifi that worked, free terminal access, complimentary soft drinks and H2O in the elegant bar area. Breakfast was the freshest we have enjoyed in Israel - complete with locally smoked fish. More

We were impressed by Akkotel from the moment we arrived. The building itself is beautiful restored stone, within the city walls (close to everything) but at the edge so not quite as noisy. We had a large room with three small alcoves - one for the toilet, another for the bath, and another for the towels - clearly working with... More

We have been travelling around Israel and unfortunately have been let down in many ways with the accommodation on offer - in all price bands. Heading down the coast we decided to stop in at Akko/Acre and found Akkotel. This is what I have been looking for and until now unable to find. A clean, charming, comfortable, friendly and well... This great hotel is located within the Ottoman stone walls of the old city. It is located just steps away from the underground crusader city and al jazeer mosque, to the north, and the markets and beautiful port to the south. The room was spacious, with wonderful furnishings and great stone walls (sporting the flat screen tv). The bathroom was... More
