It's hard to know how to adequately describe this wonderful little oasis that Andy and Lillian have. We stayed for 3 nights and they took care of us in the most amazing ways. They picked us up at Kilimanjaro Airport at 10pm, our room was lovely & clean with white sheets, our own facilities, fridge, bottled water, great breakfast with... More

The tranquil garden setting of this delightful property combined with its modern, clean facilities made this a perfect choice for my recent stay. I was originally a little concerned about its location out of town, but the taxi ride into town was quick and relatively cheap. On one occasion the owner - Andy (a very hospitable host) - personally drove... More

A delightful place to stay. 8 rooms in a lush garden, quiet and peaceful and removed from the bustle of Arusha. Excellent rooms at a very good price for Arusha. Rooms are very modern and include small TV and minibar (which operates quietly). Free wifi available and a good breakfast. The owners are very welcoming and keen to provide travllers... More

We chose Tumaini Cottages because of the outstanding rating it had on this site- unfortunately we were disappointed. I think it's one of those instances where people have got to know the owners who are lovely, and then been overly generous in their reviews of the accommodation. The rooms were clean and had everything you'd expect, but they are looking... More

Let me just start this review by mentioning the avocados. They're delicious, so tasty and soft. You should definitely try them. The tree is discreetly standing in the neatly arranged garden, so close you might feel the desire to steal them. But don't, or Andy won't let you have all the other delicious comfort food he and his wife have... More

This review is long overdue but definitely well deserved. We stayed at Tumaini Cottage for one night on Dec. 27th after a tiring four day safari and were welcomed by Andy and his wife, two very pleasant and friendly people. The hotel is a small, family run operation with a nice garden area. It is located a residential neighborhood in... More

Getting there at night especially on our first trip to Africa it was a bit freaky to drive down on the narrow streets to it in complete darkness, however our worries turned out to be not founded. The housing is great, with clean rooms, all needed amenities. Family run hotel, with 10 rooms, so not the industrial hotel feeling. They are people... More
