The Arusha hotel is located in the very Center of the City. Sometimes its not good to stay in the very centre but I use to stay here due to the comfort of the hotel and classical style of the facility. I like it. Arusha is a very busy town, and the traffic is terrible, so if you are moving... More

A pylon in the traffic circle of this 19th century hotel marks the geographic center of Africa. The hotel has been thoroughly updated, and has a new wing (where we stayed) that is finished in dark teak or mahogany doors and blond floors. Room was gigantic by hotel standards, and exceedingly quiet. Bathrooms are very large, with shower and huge... More

We stayed in The Arusha Hotel for two nights after our flight from Amsterdam, before we began our safari. The room was adequate. The breakfast food was not as fresh as we would have liked, but good. The Hatari bar was historical and fun from that standpoint. The dining room food was okay, but nothing special. Our meals were provided,... More

This hotel which has been around a long time has been completely re-done. It looks new and feels new. Both the gardens and facilities are maintained well. The hotel and rooms are clean and fairly roomy. The staff was generally courteous and friendly, but somewhat slow to act. We needed extra towels, but it took three phone reminders before the... More

We recently had a great experience at the Arusha Hotel where we hosted a conference for 60 people. The conference facilities were excellent, the staff and service were extremely efficient and competent, and everything went smoothly, despite many last minute changes. About half of our delegates stayed at the Hotel in single rooms, and they all commented on the friendly... More

This hotel is a bit like an upmarket Fawlty Towers in our experience - something was always wrong. The staff in their defence were generally very apologetic and swiftly tried to rectify the problems. We stayed twice, pre and post Safari, which was part of our honeymoon in Africa. It was not a cheap hotel to stay at - >$300AUD/night.... More

I have come to this hotel off and on for numerous occasions for the last seven years. the New Arusha Hotel aka the Arusha Hotel has beautiful grounds and scenery along with fascinating history that they hardly mention and is conveniently located as well as safe. The hotel also has a pool and a gym. Unfortunately, the beds are horrid... More

I understand that no place can be as perfect as a home but this is a home away from home. I stay there alot and have a great rapport with the staff who always remember me and are so polite and accommodating. You want to go somewhere where when there is a problem they will at least fix it for... More

The hotel and facilities are very nice. A number of minor problems added up to more aggravation than you would expect....even in Africa. The first three nights, the air conditioner didn't function properly and the staff didn't know how to operate the controls....I finally figured it our myself. We couldn't seem to get washcloths in our room. Every day, room... More
