We stayed at Moivaro after our Kilimanjaro climb, so just having a hot shower was a real treat... The rooms are attractive, the grounds have tropical flowers and a small pool. The food on the premises was OK, nothing special. Service was fairly friendly. More

We stayed here on our first night in Tanzania ahead of our four day safari and were very pleased with the lodge. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and the food was very good. The barman was particularly helpful. Due to the weather we didn;t use the pool but it looked nice. Our cottage was pleasant and they... More

Very good location to start a safari vacation. Lacks character and rooms are spacious, but nothing special. Food is decent and reasonably priced, some of the waiters are very friendly, some are absolutely not. The pool is small and cold and there are very few chairs. Electricity is on and off, which is very annoying, especially in the evenings after... More

We started our Tanzania stay in this gorgeous spot on a coffee plantation, and never regretted it. It's impossible to review this hotel without mentioning how beautiful the grounds are, every inch of the hotel proper boasting beautiful native flowers and plantings, and the grounds around it endless green. The rooms are lovely, too, if spare. We stayed in two... More

When we arrived at the Moivaro Coffee Plantation Lodge there was no electricity. Unfortunately, they did not tell us that when we checked in. We were taken to our cottage and shown the "amenities" which are few. It wasn't until we tried to turn on the lights and nothing worked did we realize there was no power. When we went... More

A group of us stayed at the lodge the night before we climbed Kilimanjaro and the night after we finished. It is a comfortable lodge with lovely little bungalows around the main lodge. The staff are very good and the food was delicious, vegetarian choice offered. The bar area and fire pit are amazing chill out areas. The lovely flora... More

We really enjoyed staying here in the beginning of September before travelling to the Serengeti. We had a private transfer from Mt Kilimanjaro airport to the lodge which took about an hour through some traffic along the main road from Dar es Salaam. It took around 40 minutes to get from the lodge to Arusha airport. The lodge is down... More

We stayed at KIA Lodge, near Kilimanjaro Airport for 1 night. The rooms were pleasant and the food was very good at dinner. Breakfast box was not so great! The reception service was very average, we didn't get our 3.15am wake up call, quite important as we had a flight to catch! Its closeness to the airport makes it a... More

It's hard for a hotel to compete with the natural beauty that's already such a presence in this part of Tanzania. But when you combine the elegant grounds of the Moivaro with its professional and gracious staff, ample rooms, delicious food and general level of service, it's no surprise that I found myself about as sad to leave the hotel... We stayed here before and after our climb up Kili. The food, service and pool are all nice. The rooms are acceptable but there are some major problems that need to be addressed: Hot water (which is the ONLY thing you want after coming off the mountain!) Noisy - a neighbor blasts very loud music every sunday all day Needs... More
