dangerous smoke in the area makes any view impossible. staff is poorly managed and most are new there. rooms and toilet are dirty and poorly constructed. dangerous railing, be very careful that you fall over it. tours are VERY overpriced. motorbikes start very early and you are right on the road, so there is no avoiding it.

Only the place and nature are amazing. Dirty places everywhere. The badest bed on my four week trip in thailand. Old, curved and smelly matrass with bedbugs. Food was not good and too expensive. Always insects in it. The waterfall is great but has nothing to do with this. Try to make a daytrip. Btw: the akhkas are celebrating some... More

We read about Akha Hill House in our Rough Guides book and decided to give it a try without looking at reviews...big mistake. We found the Akha River House (A branch owned by the same people but located in the city of Chaing Rai) and asked everyone about Akha Hill House. The first person we talked to seemed to be... More

My husband and I were met at the bus station by a tout who is the manager of the hotel. As I had to do a border run with my baby, we did not return in time to go that night, so went the next night instead. At the bus station the guy said they had bungalows beginning at 400... More

With a very convenient pick up from anywhere in Chiang Rai, this is a must. Very basic accommodation and very few people about, but that is just what we needed before the hustle and bustle of southern Thailand. The views are spectacular and there are plenty walks which you can do on your own (waterfall, villages, tea plantations, hot springs... More

After staying at The Bamboo Nest with Noy and her family I think I have been spoilt to this kind of Tribal stay. I was drawn to this with the offer of pay 2 nights get the 3rd free, now I know why!!! THERE WAS NO ONE THERE!!!!!! I arranged the trip with Tao who seemed very nice, but I... More

wonderfull place in the mountains, very kind people and excellent guides to make a jungle tour without the visit of a snake, elephant, lion or other farm. Great walks in the nature and a quiet place, really worth a visit!!! better than the trekking from chiang mai or chiang rai

Visited the hill tribe for a few hours, did not sleep at the lodges. The people were nice, the younger ones performed for us. Very memorable stay. Went with tour company so maybe that's why my review is different from other folks.

A couple of friends stayed here and raved about it. My experience wasn't that great. Although the bungalow was inexpensive, the blanket had holes in it as did the mosquito netting. When i asked for tape to fix the holes, there wasn't any. The food was very greasy and salty...definitely the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. The museum was... More

I think if you want a tranquility, better stay in Akha Hill House Chiangrai. fell the athmosphere of nature : a beautiful scenery, tea plantation and waterfall too. good for adventurer...it is a cheap accomodation suit for backpacker. you can interact with villager (akha people) so you will close to thai people and give you a new experiences
