The setting of this resort could not be lovelier. Arrived and departed by boat. Kayaked down the river. The accomodations reminded me of boy scout camp. Food was average. Egads----instant coffee. Our guide arranged for a group of children from the nearby village to sing to us by candle light which was magical. We also toured the nearby village. The... More

Most travelers arrive by boat, which is easily and dependably arranged by using the email contact on the resort website. You can arrange to stop for an elephant ride en route, which nicely breaks up the 2-hour ride from the Rimkok in Chiang Rai. The road trip is shorter, but difficult, and we enjoyed returning that way for the spectacular... More

I have long dreamt of visiting a jungle paradise, and what it might be like. Now I know. It is called Huai Khum Resort, and located in the beautiful jungle mountains of Northern Thailand. The only thing that surpasses the lush surrounding vistas and intricately finished aminities is the exuberant, impeccable service. Charlie and Grace have a gift of hospitality... More

We were 3 couples expecting adventure activities but with semi-luxurious accommodations at the end of an active day. We bicycled to the little town, rode elephants and took the long tail boat to the resort. Kayaked down the river. We were looking forward to the pool - but was only half full of water and water looked unhealthy to go... More

Mr Imp and I are arguing over the rating here, it wasn't average but it wasn't very good - so a good 3.5 at least. Loved the cabins, beds comfortable but no air con - was boiling for about an hour and then it cools down. Food was the best I've had so far this trip. It needs more comfortable... More

Choosing to stay at the Huai Khum Resort wasn’t trivial. The travel agent said it lacked air condition and mentioned the place was in the jungle, but a After long consideration we decided to go for it. Arriving to Huai Khum Resort with a motor river boat was both exciting and promising. Once there, the scenery is breath taking, the... More

Thanks for your criticism. I will pay more attention to the tidiness of each bungalow as was advised. I understand that no matter how beautiful the scenery is, if the accommodation is not clean, it is a lack of convenience. Now, talking about the design of the accommodation, each bungalow is different. I would like to know which bungalow you... More

The journey to the resort was a little tricky as we arrived at night, but "Charlie" came to our rescue and drove out to find us. We arrived to the resort by long-tail boat, and first impressions were minimal as it was dark. The warmth of our welcome was enough as we settled down to cold beers and dinner in... More

In October 2009, we took a mountain bike tour from Chaing Mai to Golden Triangle Thailand and stayed in 7 different hotels along the way. The Huai Khum Resort is located nearly 4Km from the nearest paved road and probably much further from the nearest telephone. It is located on a hillside overlooking the Ping river and a charming hill-tribe... More

We all liked it here. This is a lovely setting with a beautiful pool. The food is great and cheap. It's really great if kids are travelling with you because they can run and play to their hearts content. It's boating in and out, so that's fun too. No nightlife to speak of but that suited us fine since our... More
