The location was excellent and the pension itself quaint. The old town has plenty of character and you can wander through the cobble stone streets enjoying the ambiance. This hotel was booked by an agency in Istanbul and we had no expectations at all. They told us it would be "pretty basic." They were right. The owner was pleasant and... More

I booked with them over a week ago and they confirmed the booking, thereafter canceling the booking because there are some Turkish people who now want to stay there during Bayram. They said they no longer have anything available. Also, I just checked the booking.com website, and it says that there are still double rooms available. They either do not... More

This town is a Disneyland-like town by now filled with Japanese and Korean tourists, specially groups. Lonely Planet was almost totally wrong about this place. After writing several e-mails and getting no replies I called and made a reservation about two months prior to our arrival and three days after I got an e-mail replying to my e-mail as if... More

I stayed one night at the dorm room which has about 6 beds. The house is nice detailed decorated, but the toilet and shower room inside the dorm is extremely tiny and it does not work so well. The owner is very talent carpenter man but I would say he is still very business minded, he charged 25TL/night/person for this... More

We stayed for a night in July. It was very hot and with no a/c or even a fan, we couldn't fall asleep until late. Certainly authentic but they shoudl be able to at least put fans in the rooms. We felt there were probably many better alternatives. More

I booked this pension because I was looking to stay in an old Ottoman house. I got that which was great, but it also came with cold rooms and a toilet that only worked half the time. I didn't even try to use the shower. The owner was not friendly and in fact, I almost thought didn't want to help... More

It makes me very angry. The owner of Bastoncu Hotel & Pension gave me a 4-bed dorm (with a very tiny toilet and small room) and charge different price as I found from the hotel-booking webste. 4 beds dorm should be 10 euro each the he charged me 12.5 euro each 'cause he said this is a 6-beds room (he... I booked direct through the Pension website - got a email reply and then confirmed a day before by phone. We had the front room, very authentic looking with one queen and one single bed, and a long sofa under the window. There is a small tiled bathroom accessible through a cupboard like door in the bedroom. Overall very happy.... More

I had 2 feeling on this pansion, the good thing is that the room and the house are well decorated and the owner and his wife is quite friendly. The bad thing is that i arrived at safranbolu at 1030pm and called the owner's daughter to pick us up at bus station. We waited for more than 25mins which we... More

It was good as: - clean - convineant location - free pick up from the main bus station. - young lady owner spook very good english. Perphas not so nice: - If you were staying in a dorm room as the other twin/double rooms were occupied (but paying the same price), that room was rather small (no space except for... More
