Richard very kindly picked us up from another hotel on the river, as we had already been in Zambia for 2 days. Very friendly staff and great service throughout our 1 night stay. The hotel is very peaceful, no noise from traffic as it's in a very quiet street. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the shower had good water... More

We contacted Richard a year ago to sort our accomodaion out in Livingstone as part of our 30th Wedding Anniversary Celebrations. He answered every question promptly and was vey helpful in helping us decide what excursions we wanted to undertake whilst we were there. We stayed 3 nights and managed to cram in High Tea at the Royal Livingestone, microlight... More

We stayed at the lodge for 3 days in March.Richard and staff all very helpful and friendly. Excellent value for money. Good location and easy to find. Richard also organised our safari trip to Chobe in Botswana which is an absolute must if you are at the falls for more than one day. More

Thanks for your kind review. With regard to your recommendation to 'ask for a poolside room' we would like to point out that these rooms are not suitable for families, whereas other rooms in different locations are indeed spacious and ideal for families with children, particularly those travelling by road as parking is right outside the rooms. Thanks More

Richard Chanter and the staff were incredibly helpful with logistics before our arrival and during our stay. The Chanters Lodge was very nice and a great value. I highly recommend this establishment. The only negative was that on the last morning of my stay, there was a lack of hot water in unit 10 shower however. More

Thanks for your review, sorry about the hot water on your last day. I think the problem must have been the switch on the pressure pump which we have now replaced. Apologies again for any inconvenience. More

We stayed there for 2 weeks in March and loved our time there. The lodge is well within walking distance to town, we did it nearly everyday. The lodge itself is great value for money and the food was fantastic. Richard and the girls were amazing and extremely accommodating organizing all of our activities for us. So if you are... More

This was a well run and charming retreat in the heart of Livingstone. Great accomodation and facilities close to market and everything. The food was excellent especially the steak which is the best we'd had. The staff were extremely helpful and nice and looked after your needs. I would definately reccommend this place to friends and would stay if I... More

I first learnt about Chanters Lodge through TripAdvisor and subsequently contacted Richard with my intention to tour Chobe National Park and view Victoia Falls from both Zambia and Zimbabwe sides. Richard responded promptly with his idea of how to achieve my plan. I followed his recommendation and stayed five days (four nights) at Chanters and completed all I wanted to... More

Prior to my stay Richard was very helpful booking a room (and patient while I had to change the dates twice for reasons beyond my control). Always a good start to be met by someone at the airport - one less hassle. Having arrived I was very pleased with the size and comfort of the rooms at the price, and... More

“Chanters” is owned and operated by Richard Chanter. It is clean, affordable motel style accommodation. Being a smaller establishment the service is more personal and caring than you might find elsewhere. It is also a boon to have so much local knowledge available to you either via Richard or his staff. I find this most reassuring when traveling. Apart from... More
