We just stayed here one night so we could do a trip to see Matsuyama Castle. After walking around briefly, we would like to have spent at least a half a day in Okayama. The Granvia here is very nice. It's connected to the station by a partially inclined walkway. We had booked an executive room with a third bed...

My brother and I have stayed here on numerous occasions that we've been In Okayama, and while it can be a bit pricey (20000 yen per night for a twin room) , I would recommend it highly, it's location is excellent being situated on the Shinkansen side of JR Okayama station, with a covered walkway direct from the concourse to...

The Hotel Granvia is in an excellent location, near many restaurants, good shopping and of course, the train station.
Check in was fast and easy. I was given a large, pleasant room on a remodeled floor, which I found to be quiet, comfortable and well equipped. This is one Japanese hotel where the heating/ventilating and air conditioning works well. There...

Granted Okayama might not be on everyone's list of places to visit in Japan but it is the connection point to Shikoku by rail and its Castle and the Korakuen Gardens are definitely worth a look.
The hotel is connected to Okayama Station by covered walkway and there are the suual gift and shopping arcades you expect in every major...

I picked this hotel for the location alone. I was arriving via shinkansen (bullet train) late into okayama and didn't want to wander the streets lost. This hotel is attached to the station making it very easy to access. All the staff spoke English from the front desk to the bell hops. That was impressive.
For breakfast you have two...

Picked this hotel cos we needed a stopover in Okayama and Granvia is practically part of Okayama station (Granvia hotels are owned and operated by Japan Rail). The rooms were spacious and nicely fitted out, quite new I think. Best of all they had interconnecting rooms, which made family accommodation much easier. Service was friendly and helpful. Watching the bullet...

We stayed only one night, basically transferred from the South of Japan to go to Kyotot the other day. The staff was very freindly and helpful. We got a nice upgrade, huge room with a beautiful view. There were plenty of restaurants in the mall of the train station next by. Opposite the hotel there are also a few "biergartens"...

Great location and its huge size is the only thing decent about this old, worn out, extremely expensive (for what you get) room. No updates since at least the early 80s. I would not stay here again.
Service is impeccable as it is almost everywhere in Japan

The Granvia (owned by JR West) is newly renovated and good value in terms of quality and location. Front desk employees are very helpful and service around the hotel is of a high standard, as you would expect. (European) Breakfast was average, but acceptable. Rooms are large and well equipped including free LAN internet. The beds are comfortable and the...
