We were very, very excited about our trip to Nikko.... we booked through japaneseguesthouses.com, and the photos looked amazing. Since it was our honeymoon, we decided to splurge and pay lots of money for this hotel, because of the private baths with the view that they offer.

Our family (2 parents, and kids aged 16 and 2) stayed here on our first trip to Japan. We had a week in Tokyo and took a side trip to Nikko and Lake Chuzenji for 2 days/1night. This hotel is beautiful, new, immaculate, formal but not pretentious. The baths are gorgeous, especially the women's outdoor bath and the outdoor family...
