I stayed at this property for a night in room 1354. I'd say the stay was a 6 out of 10. I was happy as well as disappointed at the same time. Jeewita ensure my smooth check in and gave me a room of my preference. Saiful was kind to help me with my requests. Mazharul ensured my breakfast experience was smooth at Salt and Pepper restaurant. Thanks to these staff members for their service. I was a bit disappointed when I requested for extra water bottles and shower gel and was told that they are chargeable. All the hotels give these amenities and room supplies complimentary as they are a basic need of any person. To my surprise I was told that if I extend my stay then these things will be refilled for me during the service of the room. If I request for more on the same day then it'll be chargeable. So I paid for the water bottles and denied for the shower gel. The telephone in the room was also not working so I had to go to reception every time I had a request or wanted to enquire about anything. The television in the room is still old school and only local channels are available on that. Other than that everything was good. The staff is polite and even helped me with a late checkout and an early check in. Grateful for everything.

Checked in 26 Oct and checked out on 27 Oct. My Mac book was STOLEN during my stay . From our obvious evidence - it went missing on 27 Oct duringg the gap of 820 am to 12pm while we went out for morning meeting and breakfast. The labtop was left on the hotel dressing tabley. Even thou the hotel shared the log in record into the room we stay - does not explain how the labtop can walk out from the room. We are not able to find any evidence how this can happen. But the obvious is - the labtop is gone. Upon checking , the hotel has no CCTV in the lift or each floor claiming it’s for the privacy of the guest. We have reported to the police and it’s under investigation. Just want to warn people out there to be cautious - this is definitely an insider job!

THE GOOD! • Staff were all polite, approachable and respectful; • The breakfast that’s included in the package (flight+hotel) was a buffet with loads of selections e.g. tea or coffee, sunny side up, boiled egg or scrambled egg (on weekends), selection of fruits and vegetable salads, fried rice or steamed rice, curry included or dumplings. What a treat! • Swimming Pool was a bonus. Clean and clear water. The ambience was excellent. Best for relaxation and sunbathing too! • We were given two (2) sets of key cards and it was very convenient. • Room 1150 was overlooking the Polo field and it was amazing. You can still see the pool with a bit of a seaview. • Our room was a bit old and rundown but still comfortable to stay. It’s not the cleanest, but the room service staff were trying their very best to make it as tidy as possible. By the way the receptionist will ask you a deposit of RM100 plus the days you would stay and you will be asked to give RM10 per day (I suppose it’s for the room service lols😅👍😀, it’s alright though)… They would give back the RM100 upon check out👍… • It was not a busy hotel (maybe we went on an off-peak season), which was great. It was not noisy, so that’s great! • there was a Spa/massage at the 7th floor (NZ) which was also a bonus. • Starbucks and Kenny Rogers Roasters was just downstairs at the Ground Floor. How very convenient. • In the Second floor (outside the hotel premises), there was a ticketing office going to Batam Centre or Penang Indonesia (by Ferry). If you want to travel to Indonesia, then this place is the best, as you can just walk in to the ticketing office to book for your travel. You need your passport, cash or credit/debit cards (RM42 per person). • If you are going to Singapore, you just need to get a cab outside, going to Johor Bahru Central (RM30), queue to the Immigration Control, then a CauseWay Link Bus to Queen Street Bus Terminal (RM4.80), Stop at the Singapore Border for checking of SG Arrival Card, then hop on the bus again. Easy peasy! IT’S SAD! As the Hotel was rundown and needs refurbishment, it seems that it needs a lot of tender love and care. It has sooooo much to offer, and the warmth and the concern of the staff was there. We just think that because the pandemic hits it badly,it’s a little bit difficult to fully recover. We’ll recommend to friends for it’s VALUE FOR MONEY and FOR THE KINDNESS OF STAFF!

The Only good thing to say about berjaya waterftont hotel is the staffs. They were very friendly and helpful especially, Mr Hafify and the facilities around the hotel is very convenient. Now about the hotel. I was locked out around 20 mins, because the access card was not working. Then my air corn was not cold. Worst of all is the wi fi. I only can get wi fi outside but not inside my room. The tv channels, all Malays and Chinese but no Tamil Channel. Why the rooms were not checked properly before the guest checked in?

Arrived a little late at night but they have 24hrs concierge so it is not a problem. If you are driving the hotel allows you to park your vehicle near the lobby while you do your checking in. Valet parking is available in RM20, RM50 and RM100. The difference between the price is the proximity, the highest price the nearer the lot is to the hotel. They do have free parking for the public with Touch N Go card. You can check with the reception. If you dont have a TnG card the hotel do provide it on a complementary basis but if you loose the card you will need to pay some charges. There are many restaurants around the hotel within walking distance so there are wide selection on food. The room is spacious and i had a view on the city and i can see part of the waterfront too and that is nice. The usb charge port in the room was not working and that is very disappointing considering i didnt bring along my charger. It was just a night stay and overall i am happy with everything.

My stay in BWH was originally from 25th-28th June 2023. I chose high floor Deluxe Sea View room for my work & silent retreat. I was given such an awesome room that I extended my stay till 30th. Though the room is a little dated & the safe box was not in operation, I was glad the important amenities like hot water, mini fridge, WC were all functioning very well. Despite a slight ta-da-ta-da sound from the aircon dart, a didi-didi-didi sound from the table digital control gadget, I was too overjoyed with the spacious clean room and the awesome sea view that those minor sounds weren't affecting me. I literally could stay indoor whole day. The hotel staff from Reception, Concierge, Housekeeping, Cafe & Kitchen crew, poolside Maintenance Supervisor & workers have been very friendly, warmth and helpful. Mr Dinanath, a Concierge staff from Nepal, has been extremely helpful to me & with his professional attitude & passion, he is a gem in the Hospitality Industry. I also had the privilege of getting to know the GM, Mr Loovi, on my last day. It's rare to meet a very humble, friendly, genuinely warmth, helpful, meticulous, and service-yet-people-orientated GM in the Hospitality Industry nowadays. 👍 Being a rare solo female traveller (though a seasoned one esp to Msia & having tried many hotels in JB), I must say that everyone I encountered in BWF has contributed to creating great memories in my trip. It's like being in a 2nd home, away from home. The breakfast spread was good enough for someone who has given up on waking early for many hotels' breakfast offers. Pls don’t expect an array of 50 dishes. It is not a buffet lunch/dinner. The spread is in a good portion enough for you to skip lunch! My favourite dishes are Kari Ayam, Nasi Lemak, Porridge, Mini Ayam Sausages, Fried Mee & Watermelons. Thankfully, the coffee is satisfying to my particular standard 😉 The hotel is huge & I was glad there is a quiet lounge area by the Salt n Pepper Cafe where I could spend 2 hours in silent retreat, looking out beyond the Straits of Johor. The staff in MeiSan Szechuan Restaurant are very friendly too. The view from the open pool at level 7 is breathtaking; making me feel as if I'm on top of a castle 🫠 I love the fact that the polished granite made the interior of the hotel still standing grand. As travellers, it is often too easy to travel like a Police Inspector, always looking out for flaws to raise. If we want hotel standards to be like our homes, then travelling is not for us. If we think we are entitled to everything pose just cos the Hotel's is 4*-5* - yet we are paying a decent room rates - then we ought to just opt for the top notch hotels. The key factors as a traveller are: be realistic, be gracious, be appreciative, be nice (if something isn't working well & u need help), be adaptable. At least, BWF is working hard on improving their standards especially after the long pandemic. Where Berjaya Group is concerned, many of us know their attention to service standards, won't go wrong. Thank you Berjaya Waterfront Hotel for the memorable experience. I am already making plans to visit soon & to visit my new friends 😄

We decided to give the place a try even though the reviews has been disheartening. Upon check in the hotel lobby was extremely warm. Sense something was amiss and we were right. The hotel was having an aircon problem. Reception informed that one out of their 2 air con tower was down. So the whole hotel is relying on one that was still working. We had to wait for quite sometime for them to settle our room. Apparently, their hotel system was down also. The staff who checked us in said their system has been down for quite a while. I have no idea how they manage to run their operations on a daily basis with the system down as they have to rely on papers/reports to check for guest arrivals/departures as well as their clean and dirty rooms. We were assigned a so called working aircon room. As we were walking to our room, we peered down to the hotel ground where the cafe/restaurant is at, there was no sign of 'life'. You don't see anyone walking or sitting there at all. It looked like we were the only ones in the hotel. Upon entering the room, the bed was nicely made. But that was it. The carpet looks atrociously dirty that we didn't even dare step on it with our bare feet. You can see all sorts of hairs, threads as well as debris from food. The night stand next to the bed also had some nuts or snacks on it, probably from the previous guest. We didn't even have our shower as the bath tub looks dirty. The bath tub stopper was also rusting. The thing that bug us the most was the mouldy mildew smell emitting in the room. It was so so strong. Other than the air con that feels like it was blowing hot air. We went out for dinner in the hope that we return, the air con will be better. After speaking to the reception our concern, he has assured us that if things don't get better, they will refund our nights stay. When we came back, the condition was still the same. Hence we decided to check out and find another hotel, in the middle of the night. The carpark is eerie and gloomy. We were told to park on the 6th level for hotel guests. We went up, but there was only one car, parked on the entire 6th floor. The number of cars you see decreases the higher you go. We decided to go down and park on the 2nd floor where most vehicles are at. It was quite a distance to walk from the carpark to the hotel lobby. You have to cut thru the mall to get into the hotel lobby. It was scary as we don't see any security on guard or duty making their rounds. They really have to improve on the quality of service, as well as the cleanliness, if the hotel were to survive the year. Families especially with kids, pls find another hotel to stay as it is not ideal for families to stay. You will know once you see the "night life" which is quite happening around the hotel vicinity.
