We were looking for a good stay at Mulu for our visit in Sept 2009. All the sites related to Mulu directed us to Royal Mulu Resort, which I thought was a very commercialized, mass market resort. Wow. Matumau Lodge is absolutely fantastic. It is such a shame that it is not more widely known about. The lodge is located 50m from the airport , beside the river in a small clearing.
