KWL is in a good location, close to the waterfront. The hostel has a lot of character, being an old colonial style building. The staff were all nice and looked after our bags after we checked out for the day. Our room was very clean and compact, with a TV, AC and hot shower (nice and powerful). Unfortunately, our room... Kuching Waterfront hotel is in a great location for exploring kuching. The hotel was very quiet, staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious and the aircon worked very well. The building is old and interesting. It didn't really suit us though as there was no atmosphere. It sometimes felt like we were the only people there.... More

Very friendly staff, be careful when asking about local buses etc to places they tried to get us to take the shuttles which are a lot more expensive. The rooms were clean and we were, by all accounts, lucky as we had the room at the front with a window overlooking the waterfront. WiFi only in the lounge area which... More

What i liked best about the waterfront lodge was the perfect position, right by the river and the friendly and helpful staff at reception. We had a double room with window to an insight court. Not worth opening..but..very quiete. The room was small, no cupboard to hang up cloth, but clean and a functional bathroom and A/C.....If you dont look... More

We stayed in private en suite room so can not comment on dorms and shared bathroom facilities. Room was clean, good size with window opening on internal courtyard. As previously mentioned was a little stuffy/musty at first but quickly cleared with air con. Air con was very efficient. Staff friendly and helpful, building has lots of character and great location... More

We stayed here for a few nights on and off. Room we had was basic and fairly big. Agree that it smells stuffy when you first go in but this goes away in a few minutes. I found the place to be really good value, nice location on the river front and the place has very friendly, helpful staff. It's... More

I was very happy about the incredibly friendly staff. They helped me with every little question I asked. They planned every trip for me, called the taxis I needed, even bargained with the taxi drievers about the prices. No charges for putting my valuables into the safe!

It's worth going to this hotel just to see the building! It's in the old Chinese quarter, on the riverside, a traditional place that people have been staying in for generations! There is a central, internal courtyard with rooms on several stories. They range from dorms to double rooms with ensuite bathrooms, but all the rooms are simple and basic.... More

Arrived at this place at 8 in the morning without booking, after travelling overnight by bus from Brunei so we were ready to fall into any room, anywhere. Although check in wasn’t till 2pm, as the room was available we were given our keys, signed in and in our room within 10 minutes. This place has a lot of character... More
