We've stayed here for 3 nights in the summer and I can't really complain. The location was ok, close to the subway station and therefore 15-20 min from the center of Moscow. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was ok. We've also tried the food in the restaurant and found that good and not expensive. It's not a... More

I arrived to hotel at night and was surprised the doors were closed. It took me about 15 minutes to knock there, after sleepy security men opened it. He told something like " what are you doing there" and followed me to reception desk. Elder lady there did not speak english? so it was a little bit long time to... More

The origins of this hotel are suspicious; an asylum springs to mind. It is far, and the 'campus' consists of several tired buildings; this was #7. Rooms were clean, thou, and the crammed bathroom, too. Separate beds were basic and particularly narrow. The room was very hot, so the window had to be open all night. The one elevator was... More

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tourist Hotel was build to accomodate guests to the "Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy" (VDNKh) in the 1950s of 1960s. This exhibition glorified the achievements of the Soviet Union (the remains of this exhibition can still be seen behind the hotel and it is certainly recommended to pay a visit). Although the... For your information, we stayed one night in Hotel Tourist while it was around 30-35 degrees outsides. At check-in the girl at the desk was formal, not-kind, not rude. Being a foreigner the hotel needs to register your visa so they took our passports and told us to pick them up after ten minutes. Our room was located on the... More

We were staying here during summer; it was extremely hot; in room temperature during the night was > 32 degrees Celsius. Bathroom has not been renovated since mid 60's, beds are terrible, breakfast minimal. Receptionists did not speak English; younger people were rude, older people nice and tried in German. Bagage storage room was down stairs; no help form personal... More

I spent 8 nights at Hotel Tourist. A Moscow friend of mine selected the hotel, and made sure that I was booked into one of the "renovated" rooms. Adequate bathroom, firm mattresses, strong internet wifi signal in room. Price for 8 nights was $756 total, including all taxes and fees and breakfast. For Moscow hotels this is VERY CHEAP. This... Terrible. Cheap by Moscow standards, but you get much less than what you pay for. Our room had not been renovated for 30 years, bathroom was a nightmare. We were scared to use their towels and sheets. Well heated though (as every building in Russia is). Located about a 10 minute walk from the metro. Service was not very friendly,... More

Hotel Tourist is massive, with tiny elevators and is very very hot in the rooms in summer and I just cant imagine how freezing it would be in winter. The hotel is quite a long way from town but is on the metro line. It has a great local restraunt on the grounds, well priced. The rooms are small, the... More
