Stayed at the Lotus in March of 2003. Cold (but warmer than Moscow), Volga was partially frozen. Hotel is right on the Volga. Casino attached, leather-jacketed heavies hanging around, but no problem. Did receive phone call asking if we "wanted sex?"; probably the advertised massage service drumming up business. Had to move rooms mid-stay due to painting, staff overly concerned... More

I stayed here in 1999. This is a typical large Russian hotel from the communist era. Rooms are small and dingy. It is centally located and is on the river. Staff was not very helpful. More
