About 10 minutes to the present Kunming airport (Wujiaba.) Small eateries within walking distance. Construction on two sides and a park on another side across the street. If you just want a comfortable place to sleep, this is a a good choice. My room was comfortable and clean. Smooth check in and check out. (I speak Chinese.)

We stayed two days in this hotel, conveniently close to the airport.
The rooms are clean and well decorated. the Chinese food is excellent, but don't expect a western breakfast. Unfortunately the palms in the main lobby are made of plastic.

Rates you will find at 200 Yuans for this hotel are not the main wing which looks quite nice, but an old wing on the back that really looks like an old soviet hotel. Leaking pipes in the bathroom, etc... really poor.
I got to the hotel at 11pm, needed room service, I was told that the only option was...rice...
